1983: CMA continues to extend its shipping lines and crosses the Suez Canal for the first time.

To reflect this new prominence, the Tour CMA CGM, home to our new head office, was inaugurated in 2011 in Marseille.
The CMA CGM Jules Verne was delivered in 2013, measuring 396 meters long and with capacity of 16,000 TEU. At the time, it was the biggest container ship to fly the French flag on the world’s biggest shipping route.
2014: Acquisition of OPDR, specialist in short sea shipping and door-to-door logistics solutions.
In April 2015, the group acquired a strategic stake in LCL Logistix, a logistics leader in India, via its subsidiary CMA CGM LOG.
In December 2015, CMA CGM Benjamin Franklin called at the Port of Los Angeles and thus became the largest vessel ever to call the United States.
In July 2016 CMA CGM finalized its acquisition of Singapore-based NOL (Neptune Orient Lines) and its container line APL (American President Lines) after an all-cash offer of US$2.4 billion.
In June 2017, CMA CGM acquire Mercosul Line, a Brazilian shipping company specialized in multimodal door-to-door container transportation and logistics.
2017: Rodolphe Saadé is appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Group.
In October 2018, CMA CGM finalized the acquisition of Finland-based container-transportation and logistics company Containerships.
In April 2019, CMA CGM completed its public tender offer to acquire CEVA Logistics.
2020: Launch of the CMA CGM JACQUES SAADE, the Group’s new flagship and the first 23,000 TEU container ship powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas).
In February 2021, CMA CGM AIR CARGO was created, our new division dedicated to air freight with four cargo planes with capacity of 60 tons each.
In September 2021, CMA CGM announced a partnership with fellow Breton-based operator Brittany Ferries.
Its 566 vessels serve more than 420 ports on five continents around the world and carried nearly 22 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) in 2021.
2022: Acquisition of a majority stake in Colis Privé to strengthen the Group’s e-commerce and last mile solutions.
