CMD Electric is seeking an experienced and driven Electrical Business Development Manager to lead client acquisition and growth strategies across key market sectors. This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building lasting client relationships, and working with our estimating and project teams to drive revenue and expand market share.
Responsibilities
Identify, research, and develop new business opportunities in commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, government, and other target sectors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, architects, and other key decision-makers.
Represent CMD Electric at industry events, networking functions, pre-bid meetings, and trade shows.
Collaborate with estimating and operations teams to develop strategic proposals and project bids.
Track and manage leads, opportunities, and client interactions in a CRM system.
Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify emerging markets and business risks.
Contribute to marketing strategies, brand visibility, and thought leadership efforts.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the electrical or construction industry.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Deep understanding of the construction sales cycle, bid process, and market dynamics.
Strong network of industry contacts in Bay Area California.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Self-starter with proven ability to meet or exceed growth targets.
Proficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented construction environment.
Familiarity with prevailing wage, design-build, and public works projects.
