Key Responsibilities

Hartzell Propeller Inc. seeks a CMM Programmer for current products and new product development utilizing Pc-DMIS software to ensure parts meet quality specifications.

Key Deliverables of the Position

1) Create CMM programs that meet print requirements

2) Maintain schedule for CMM programs to correspond with production requirements

3) Verify CMM programs are accurate and repeatable

Examples of Daily Activities

1) Program off-line with CAD models

2) On-line programming with and without CAD models

3) Maintain and update existing CMM programs

4) Troubleshoot inspection problems on production floor

5) Partner with the CNC programmers to create manufacturing processes

6) Support training of the CMM operator

7) Coordinate service, support and new equipment from CMM vendors

8) Manual verification of CMM programs

Requirements:

Required Education and Experience

Qualified candidate should have five (5) years of experience in inspection/quality and 1-3 years of CMM programming experience, preferably PC-DMIS.

Required Technical Competencies

1) CMM programming experience utilizing PC-DMIS

2) Excellent blueprint reading skills

3) Understanding of GD&T

4) Proficient computer skills (MS-Office)

5) Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Technical Competencies

1) Experience with Solid Works software

2) Experience with mechanical inspection

3) Experience with inspection planning

4) Strong math skills (geometry, trigonometry, algebra)

5) Experience with point clouds and Inspections Arms

Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or equivalent experience Excellent communication, time management, organizational, problem solving, and decision making skills Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to improvise and adapt to new or unorthodox situations Must have excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and DataPage+ Training in PolyWorks, GD&T, PC-DMIS, Caligo, Advanced GD&T, ASQ CQT, Core Tools, and blueprint reading Must have a good knowledge of the English language Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949


Essential Functions:
Assist in auditing the quality system Attend launch quality meetings to track the introduction of new product Troubleshoot for production line if there are issues with a certain part Perform programming of CMM Ensure that for each new part launch, the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Control Plans requirements are followed Source and track check fixture builds Interprets GD&T for CMM data fits Utilize CMM to check parts to ensure they meet GD&T and customer requirements Transfer of CMM data to PC-DMIS, Caligo, PiWeb, and/or DataPage+ Report data to engineers for review and analysis Re-evaluate parts following engineering adjustments Provide support to FARO Arm Technicians as necessary Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook


Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of planes and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

80% CMM Lab, 20% Plant Floor (PPE Required)

Miller Brother Staffing is looking for a CMM Programmer for a manufacturing company in Erie, PA.



Salary
: $21-$30 an hour based on experience, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday


PREFERRED SKILLS
: As a key contributor to the new product launch team, the CMM Programmer creates inspection programs and determines other inspection methods to evaluate machined part quality vs. customer specifications. The programmer also supports engineering implementation of product revisions and process improvements as well as providing other inspection service.

• Set up, program and complete dimensional inspections using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
• Interpret complicated drawings, control plans, process instructions and work instructions to determine features to be inspected
• Using micrometers, calipers and
• PC-DMIS is preferred but not required.

REQUIREMENTS
: The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

• High School diploma or GED and two years minimum experience in performing dimensional inspections

• Must be proficient in current computer software
• Must be able to lift parts and other items from floor to waist on a frequent basis, while protecting lifted items from damage. Parts weigh 50 lbs. on an occasional basis, 35 lbs. on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to stand for several consecutive hours without rest, with frequent bending and reaching.
• Must be able to tolerate a hot work environment seasonally, when summer outdoor temperatures combine with residual heat from machines.
• Must be able to walk within and between areas frequently and climb stairs occasionally.
• Must be able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to retain instructions sufficient to perform complex tasks successfully and with very minimal supervision.
• Must be able to read and understand drawings and precision measuring instruments.
• Must be able to comprehend and comply with requirements of the Quality Systems Manual as instructed.
