**Job Description:**
This position provides a unique opportunity for hands-on training in electrical design. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work well with a team and independently. Our engineers will teach the student co-op how we design and implement electrical systems/infrastructure as well as energy efficient measures in our building projects. This is a great opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and complex MEP projects, and become an important part of our design team.
**Job Functions: (may include but are not limited to)**
+ Learn and implement the electrical system basics such as power, power distribution, lighting & controls, fire alarm systems for new constructions and renovation design projects while supporting our engineering team.
+ Produce detailed layout and equipment details of electrical systems of buildings,
+ Produce one-line diagrams/schematics,
+ Assist the design team in the process of assembling organized sets of drawings,
+ May assist in the data collection and/or field verification, and

Summary/Objective
The Austin Company performs design-build work for industrial and specialized commercial markets. The Electrical Intern actively works with in-house engineers, architects, and construction departments to assist with ongoing functions. What You Will Be Doing
Daily Responsibilities
Work within a global collaborative R&D team to create and improve printed circuit board designs using Cadence design systems (Allegro). (Other design systems are considered for this role.)
Release projects to manufacturing by creating schematic design capture, new part numbers, detailed descriptions, and printed board assemblies (BOM structures) for new and legacy products or projects.
Work within the Windchill PDM application tool to store fabrication documentation, schematics, gerber files etc.
Work collaboratively with other engineering resources, project management, purchasing etc. and assist in applying core engineering concepts to solve complex, unfamiliar, and novel problems.
