  • YC Founder Whisperer

    Posthog

Co-founder job in San Francisco, CA

Help us to increase the number of successful products in the world! 🌍 Location: We are full-remote and globally distributed! Our current team is distributed between GMT-8 and GMT+2 so we currently only hire in these timezones. 🎤 Interview process: Read more about our interview process. 🖥️ Team: Customer Success 💼 Manager: Dana 💰 Compensation: Please check our compensation calculator. 🦔 Read more about how we hire and how we think about Diversity & Inclusion. About PostHog We're shipping every product that companies need from their first day, to the day they IPO, and beyond. The operating system for folks who build products. We started with open-source product analytics, launched out of Y Combinator's W20 cohort. We've since shipped more than a dozen products, including: A built-in data warehouse, so users can query product and customer data together using custom SQL insights. A customer data platform, so they can send their data wherever they need with ease. Max AI, an AI-powered analyst that answers product questions, helps users find useful session recordings, and writes custom SQL queries. Next on the roadmap are CRM, messaging, revenue analytics, and support products. When we say every product, we really mean it! We are: Product-led. More than 100,000 companies have installed PostHog, mostly driven by word-of-mouth. We have intensely strong product-market fit. Well-funded. We've raised more than $100m from some of the world's top investors. We're set up for a long, ambitious journey. Default alive. Revenue is growing 10% MoM on average, and we're very efficient. We raise money to push ambition and grow faster, not to keep the lights on. We're focused on building an awesome product for end users, hiring exceptional teammates, shipping fast, and being as weird as possible. Things we care about Transparency: Everyone can read about our roadmap, how we pay (or even let go of) people, our strategy, and how we work, in our public company handbook. Internally, we share revenue, notes and slides from board meetings, and fundraising plans, so everyone has the context they need to make good decisions. Autonomy: We don't tell anyone what to do. Everyone chooses what to work on next based on what's going to have the biggest impact on our customers, and what they find interesting and motivating to work on. Engineers lead product teams and make product decisions. Teams are flexible and easy to change when needed. Shipping fast: Why not now? We want to build a lot of products; we can't do that shipping at a normal pace. We've built the company around small teams - autonomous, highly-efficient groups of cracked engineers who can outship much larger companies because they own their products end-to-end. Time for building: Nothing gets shipped in a meeting. We're a natively remote company. We default to async communication - PRs > Issues > Slack. Tuesdays and Thursdays are meeting-free days, and we prioritize heads down building time over perfect coordination. This will be the most productive job you've ever had. Ambition: We want to solve big problems. We strongly believe aiming for the best possible upside, and sometimes missing, is better than never trying. We're optimistic about what's possible and our ability to get there. Being weird: Weird means redesigning an already world-class website for the 5th time. It means shipping literally every product that relates to customer data. It means building an objectively unnecessary developer toy with dubious shareholder value. Doing weird stuff is a competitive advantage. And it's fun. Job Summary You'll be working with some of the fastest-growing startups in the world while being able to shape how early-stage teams adopt analytics, feature flags, experimentations, LLM analytics, and more. This is an exciting role to influence product direction by bringing consistent, high-signal feedback from high-growth founders. You get to own a unique high-impact segment: companies that grow quickly and often become major PostHog customers. Note: The compensation for this role is under the "onboarding specialist" role. What you'll be doing Own relationships with YC companies spending $20k-$50k/year under the PostHog credits program. Help YC founders and early engineers implement PostHog correctly: instrumentation, schemas, metrics, and multi-product usage. Provide technical guidance on analytics, feature flags, experimentation, and replay. Monitor growth signals to determine when YC companies will exceed the $50k threshold and transition to TAM ownership. represent YC user needs in all the things Offer lightweight, high-leverage guidance appropriate for early-stage teams. Ensure YC companies are set up for long-term success before they become revenue-generating. What you won't be working on ❌ Enterprise-style renewals ❌ contract negotiation ❌ heavy account management, or deep expansion work Requirements Strong technical aptitude; able to work directly with engineering teams. Experience at an early-stage startup (preferably YC) - ideally a former YC founder or early employee. Ability to guide teams on event modeling, instrumentation, and analytics best practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage a portfolio of 30+ accounts and prioritize effectively. Based in the Bay Area to meet customers as needed Nice to have Experience working with similar technologies, ie. developer tools more broadly, or specifically product analytics, session replay, feature flags, A/B testing, data warehouses, or data pipelines. If you have a disability, please let us know if there's any way we can make the interview process better for you - we're happy to accommodate! #LI-DNI

This is both strategic and hands-on, suited for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys experimenting with unconventional channels, and operates comfortably without step-by-step playbooks. Compensation: $180, 000 - $200, 000 base salary (negotiable based on experience) plus bonus and equity. Location: In-office in San Francisco, with flexibility for occasional remote work. Conduct deep conversations that assess founder mindset, leadership style, risk tolerance, strategic thinking, and venture potential. Map and activate talent networks across startup, venture, product, engineering, consulting, and academic ecosystems. Create and refine narratives, touchpoints, and micro-experiences that attract entrepreneurial talent (content, dinners, events, roundtables, etc.). Explore non-traditional channels such as founder collectives, open source communities, operator networks, and early-stage programs. Work closely with leadership to synthesize signals, evaluate founder-market fit, and accelerate high-potential opportunities. Build a perspective on patterns of success and failure in early-stage talent, and use that insight to refine sourcing strategies. Maintain a fast, experimental approach to talent discovery-testing new tactics, iterating, and continuously optimizing for velocity and quality. Who You Are A high-energy, ecosystem-oriented operator who loves meeting people, exploring problems, and connecting dots across markets, technology, and talent. You enjoy autonomy, ambiguity, and extreme ownership. You can think strategically, communicate clearly, and move quickly between research, execution, and relationship building. VC analyst/associate cohorts and platform programs Early-career founder-support roles at seed-stage companies Early-stage recruiters who operated with high independence Startup Chief of Staff / Founder's Office with genuine ecosystem orientation Recent grads (1-4 years out) from top universities with early-stage experience What You'll Gain A rare opportunity to influence multiple startups from day zero Direct access to founders, operators, and investors shaping new ventures Career pathways into company leadership, venture, or founding roles Competitive compensation and meaningful equity Ideal Profile Summary This role is not about running a talent acquisition function. It's about identifying high-potential founders before they start companies, building trusted relationships, and helping shape opportunities worth pursuing. The strongest fits tend to be: Early-career venture or strategy talent who wants to be closer to creation, or Small-startup generalists who “did everything” and thrive in unstructured work. If you enjoy thinking about markets, talking to entrepreneurial people, attending events, testing ideas, and building relationships that lead to company formation-this role offers an unusually high leverage platform. • Founder's Associate

    Encord

Co-founder job in San Francisco, CA

About UsAt Encord, we're building the AI infrastructure of the future. The biggest challenge AI companies face today is not half as glamorous as the outside world may think: it's all about data quality. In fact, the success of any AI application today relies on the quality of a model's data - and for 95% of teams, this essential step is both the most costly, and the most time-consuming, in getting their product to market. As ex-computer scientists, physicists, and quants, we felt first-hand how the lack of tools to prepare quality training data was impeding the progress of building AI. AI today is what the early days of computing or the internet were like, where the potential of the technology is clear, but the tools and processes surrounding it are still primitive, preventing the next generation of applications. This is why we started Encord. Platform Venture Studio

Co-founder job in San Francisco, CA

About UsPlatform Venture Studio (platformstud.io) was created for founders by founders. We provide the infrastructure for founders from all backgrounds to build groundbreaking companies that tackle the world's biggest problems. Our tried and true methodology helps startups reach escape velocity faster, cheaper, and while having a lot more fun. Our studio team does real work, we don't waste time, and we've seen the traps that most startups fall into so we can help you steer clear of the potholes along the way. Platform's creators, serial entrepreneur Jeremy Burton and 2020 Midas List investor Tim Connors, have 60+ years of combined experience developing highly successful startups. In addition to support from our studio team and other portfolio companies, we have an 80,000+ strong community of coaches, investors, future customers, and advisors for you to lean on. We value results. We worship data. We don't chase fads. We build companies that change the world for the better. About the Founder-in-Residence Role A Founder-in-Residence (or "FIR") is an entrepreneur we partner with to build a venture-backed company that solves an Unmet Need. Typically, we begin a partnership with a FIR to develop an idea that is still in its infancy Please review our Founder Deck here for more information: ************************************* If you have already raised capital, or already found product-market fit and your unit economics work, then you are likely too late for our Founder-in-Residence program. We do make a select few traditional pre-seed investments in highly thematic companies. If you are interested in pitching for direct investment, please use Platform's DeckSend tool to send your deck for consideration: *************************************** We recommend reviewing this blog post prior to applying to determine if it makes sense for you to apply: ********************************************************************** What Platform FIR's Get Validated startup idea: A clear, unmet need in the real estate market with significant de-risking. Initial capital and access to our investor network: You will receive the funding needed to get off the ground and the backing of our extensive network of investors. Tried and true glide-path to success: We provide a roadmap of specific, measurable milestones to guide your journey, based on our extensive experience in building startups Talented, flexible, remote-first studio team: Our team brings deep expertise in design, engineering, research, talent, and growth to help you build, launch, and iterate efficiently. Shared ops, HR, and G&A functions: Including legal, finance, etc., to let you focus on building. Access to Platform Guild: Our network of ~80K trusted advisors and subject-matter experts. Coaching: Continuous guidance to keep you on track. Compensation: While the primary motivation to build a startup should be the upside from ownership, we will compensate you for your time. What We're Looking For Coachability: Being coachable is crucial for startup founders. It's about being open to learning, adapting, and growing from feedback. Successful founders refine their vision through continuous feedback, improving both their product and their sales strategies. Coachability keeps you aligned with the market, ready to pivot, and committed to solving problems in the best way possible. It's a key trait that shows you're ready for the startup journey. Sales Aptitude: Sales are everything in the early days of a startup. From fundraising to hiring to closing deals, everything revolves around selling. Instead of focusing on elaborate systems, start selling right away-get out there, make calls, and close deals. Sales aptitude is essential for getting your business off the ground. Ambiguity Tolerance: Embracing ambiguity is vital for startup founders. High ambiguity tolerance means being comfortable with uncertainty and staying adaptable. It's about moving forward confidently even when the path isn't clear, which is essential in the unpredictable world of startups. Venture-Backed & Tech Domain Knowledge: Experience in venture-backed startups and tech, including AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), is a significant advantage. It helps founders navigate the funding process, pitch to investors, and make smart technology choices, particularly in leveraging AI to enhance their products and services. Understanding LLMs allows founders to integrate advanced AI capabilities, improve user interactions, and scale their operations more effectively. This knowledge is crucial for building scalable systems, managing growth, and staying competitive in an increasingly AI-driven market. Note: Please do not pitch us in this application. We don't want to hear why you think your idea is the greatest thing ever. Instead, we want to hear about why you want to partner with us to solve a problem and engage in a process to discover the right solution. If you don't feel like you have a bulletproof, perfect answer to some of these questions, that's normal. Do your best and show your work. We most want to understand who you are: your story, your motivation for being a founder, why you care about the problem you're trying to solve, and how you think about and approach problem-solving. Take this opportunity to tell us who you are and let it serve as a reflective exercise for yourself as a founder.

    Sirenopt

Co-founder job in San Leandro, CA

SirenOpt helps manufacturers make better, safer, and more reliable micro- and nano-materials. These materials are the building blocks of critical sectors of the global economy such as batteries, computer chips, aircraft components, and power systems. But, surging material demand and growing complexity are pushing production to unprecedented scales and speeds, leaving manufacturers effectively flying blind. Small, undetected variations during production lead to wastage, lower performance, higher costs, and safety risks. SirenOpt is changing this. Our manufacturing intelligence platform scans materials, revealing critical internal information without damaging them. Using a novel combination of cold atmospheric plasma, physics-informed machine learning, and predictive analytics, SirenOpt creates unique, real-time fingerprints that capture material signals no other method can access. These insights give manufacturers unprecedented visibility into how materials behave as they are made. We turn hidden data into actionable intelligence to help manufacturers reduce variability and thus increase yield and performance. The technology can be deployed as a standalone tool or integrated directly into factory production lines. SirenOpt is currently deploying early versions of its platform with some of the largest industrial manufacturers in the world across North America, Europe, and Asia. Our first commercial product will be released in 2026. Job Description The Founder's Associate works directly with the CEO.
