They work closely with the Youth and Adult Sports Coordinator, part-time staff, and players to ensure a respectful and fun league experience. Please only apply if ALL of these commitments work for your schedule. * Basketball coach in Oakland from 3:30-5:45 on Tuesdays * Flag Football in Oakland from 2:15-4:30 on Wednesdays * Flag Football league games as an assistant coach on Saturdays between 12:30-4pm, October 11th-November 15th Coach Responsibilities * Lead a fun & safe weekly sports practice for kids ages 5-10 * Teach the FUNdamentals of sports through a cohesive and game-filled lesson plan. Training provided! * Ensure a safe and reliable program by arriving on time each week on your program day for the entire season. * Attend an orientation training in person * Interact positively with parents, teachers, and school staff * Set up before and clean up after your program * Transport all sports coaching equipment to/from class each week * Attend all scheduled Saturday game days Locations This position will coach at one or more of our ANTS partner elementary schools in the Oakland and/or greater East Bay area. You will communicate with ANTS, parents, and site staff through email and phone. * Enthusiastic & fun: ANTS coaches are positive role models for our students. We expect that you share our deep beliefs in the larger themes we are promoting: sportsmanship, wellness, and positivity. * Patience: Be a patient person who understands young children & their need to develop at their own pace. * Experience: Experience as a player or coach (at least two years) is highly valuable, though optional. * Background check: A successful candidate must pass a Federal and state Background Check and/or FBI Fingerprinting (Livescan) and test negative for TB test (within the last 4 years). * Flexible Schedule: ability to work for a few hours in the afternoon while maintaining school and other commitments * Competitive hourly pay * Coach ongoing support and training * Gain experience in early childhood sports education Pay: $25-35/hourly

Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree, from an accredited institution of higher education; 2+ years' of experience coaching football at the collegiate level; Knowledge of NCAA Rules and regulations; Proven ability to establish good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, administrators, faculty, staff and the community; Sound judgement, discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality; Knowledge of football skills, strategies, and teaching progressions; Possession of a valid driver's license and a safe driving record at the time of appointment. Before operating a vehicle on state business, the applicant must complete and sign the University's vehicle use agreement; Ability to work during normal business hours, evenings, and weekends. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years' of experience coaching football at the Division I level; 2+ years' of experience coaching football running backs.
