Amazing Athletes is the premier, sports-based enrichment program in the country looking to grow its franchise in Sussex County, Delaware and surrounding areas. Originating in California, Amazing Athletes has grown to be a sister company of Super Soccer Stars, offering coaches flexible schedules, a pathway for growth and development and a chance to work with and inspire youth. Our coaches will begin with training in the Amazing Athletes methods, executing demonstrations in various childcare centers in the territory, starting new classes, enrolling students and looking to consistently grow classes.
We are looking to add qualified, experienced, early-childhood teachers and coaches to join our program and be the face of the company! Amazing Athletes coaches are passionate about developing an athlete's confidence, and conveying the importance of teamwork while inspiring active play and fitness. Our vision is to continue creating a unique and positive culture that thrives on excitement, encouragement, development, and teamwork.
As a Coach, you will be required to travel to different schools and day care centers in areas such as, Millsboro, Georgetown, Lewes, and Rehoboth to teach the basic fundamentals of 10 different sports to children ranging from 2 - 6 years old.
Regular Responsibilities and Duties Include:
Always arrive early and prepared in advance to teach the class (includes commuting time.)
Teach an energetic and motivating class, connect and challenge each child and helping them to accomplish motor development goals and inspire a love of movement and healthy habits.
Build strong and positive relationships with parents, teachers, directors, and children on a daily basis.
Communicate with parents of the children in the program.
Teach and conduct early childhood classes and nutrition training in an organized, structured, and fun manner.
Understand responsibilities while the children are under your supervision.
Please note the potential class/work schedule:
- P/T and F/T available work year around, classes scheduled around school hours
- 1 hour classes + incentives
- Monday - Friday (8:30-4:00)
Pay Scale: $15-$30 / hour
- Roughly 10 - 30 hrs/week

Summary:

The Washington Nationals are seeking passionate and innovative minor league defensive coaches to join in creating a world-class player development pipeline. As a Coach Across America AmeriCorps Member serving with Strive, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on youth by coaching sports teams, leading engaging sessions, and providing support throughout the school day. Your service includes in-school programming, afterschool sports activities with homework support, and assistance during PE and recess. You will build strong, supportive relationships with young people as they develop confidence, leadership skills, athletic ability, and healthy habits.
Strive Coaches lead with integrity and create joyful, inclusive spaces where students can thrive. Through comprehensive training in sports-based youth development, you will be equipped to support both the mental and physical growth of the youth you serve.
Role & Responsibilities
No prior coaching experience is requiredjust a genuine passion for supporting young people. Strive provides extensive training, and youll be guided by school and program staff throughout your service term.
Hours & Contract Length
(mid January - August) will be approximately 30 hours/ week through May and up to 40 hours week June - Aug.
Skills & Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships
Interest in education, mentoring, coaching, SEL, youth development, leadership, or athletics
Preferred:
Comfort using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.)
Previous experience teaching, coaching, or facilitating
Expectations
Personal laptop use is preferred; a laptop can be provided if needed.
Reliable transportation is expected for all in-person commitments.
All coaches complete background checks.
Eligibility
U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident
Minimum age of 18
High school diploma, GED, or in progress
Reliable transportation
Ability to fulfill all AmeriCorps service requirements
Successful completion of background screenings
Sample Tasks
Assist PE teachers with daily lessons
Lead structured recess sessions
Coach or assist with school or community sports teams
Provide one-on-one and small-group student support
Demonstrate athletic skills and encourage active participation
Implement behavior-support strategies
Reinforce social-emotional skill-building throughout the day
Help gather program surveys and roster information
Create a welcoming, safe, and active play environment
Coach Across America AmeriCorps Coaches must complete the following requirements to ensure successful completion of the AmeriCorps program:
Completion of the minimum required hours (900 hours in this position) of service and training by the last day of the coach contract.
Attendance at the Coach Across America Coach orientation.
Completion of bi-weekly timesheets.
Attendance at days of community service.
Attend/participate in Coach Across America trainings, meetings, and special initiatives.
Attend Coach Training Institute (date to be announced by Field Manager).
Uniform Policy:
Coaches must wear Coach Across America branded t-shirts provided by Coach Across America with AmeriCorps logo when coaching and at program sessions and events.
