About the Role
Team Coaches play a critical role in implementing Bouldering Project's youth team curriculum, supporting the development of youth climbers as athletes, teammates, and individuals. This role involves direct coaching, curriculum execution, safety oversight, and meaningful engagement with both youth and their families. Team Coaches are key representatives of Bouldering Project values and help extend the facility's reach into elite youth climbing.
What You'll Do
Job duties may include, but are not limited to:
Work collaboratively with the Head Coach and other coaches to implement weekly training sessions and long-term team development plans
Support individual athlete development by implementing tailored coaching strategies
Assist in creating a supportive, inclusive, and respectful team environment
Communicate proactively with the Head Coach about athlete progress, safety concerns, and training needs
Supervise and motivate youth climbers during practices, events, and competitions
Represent Bouldering Project at local, regional, and national climbing competitions as needed
Respond to incidents and injuries according to safety protocols and reporting systems
Ensure all youth participants are aware of facility rules and have signed waivers
Occasionally forerun or climb routes in support of training objectives
Provide positive and professional interactions with families, athletes, staff, and community members
Other duties as assigned

The Role

Coach Role and Responsibilities
The coach/program coordinator will support HoopGirls Winter Season in the Palisades League, as well as spring, summer, and fall clinics/programming, with a focus on building skills year-round. The coach will also support partnerships with other organizations to develop joint programs, including with other CAA coaches.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Support the Director of HoopGirls in organizing and coaching the HoopGirls Winter Season in the Palisades Basketball League January and February 2026.
Create weekly practice plans and support the winter league coaches in following guidelines, fundamental skill building, and advanced plays as needed.
Coach or Assistant Coach one of the Winter Season teams.
Support each of the teams coaches (15 volunteer coaches) for the six teams for the Winter Season assisting at practices, assisting at games as needed.
Attend all practices and select games (some of teams games overlap on Saturdays).
Serve as the liaison to the commissioner of the Palisades Basketball League, as needed.
2. Facilitate basketball clinics and day camps (schedule to be determined in coordination with the Director) during the spring, summer, and fall. This includes:
Scheduling gym times
Recruiting /outreach communications for participants
Coaching clinics and camps
3. Collaborate with other partners to develop joint basketball clinics/programs.
4. Develop and administer surveys and other methods of evaluation to gauge participant experience, including data collection activities directed by the Coach Across America Program Lead.
5. Encourage participants to gain and develop life skills, knowledge, and techniques through sport, using lessons learned at Coach Across Americas best-in-class training events.
6. Act as a role model, gaining the respect and trust of the community and youth served.
The coach will serve as part of She Changes the Game, an initiative by Coach Across America and Monumental Sports & Entertainment to build a DC-based hub of coaches dedicated to growing girls participation in sports.
Schedule for January & February
Sundays, 1:30-4:30 p.m. (at Gallaudet Model Secondary School; basketball practice; 6 teams).
Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 p.m. (at B&G Club at THEARC; basketball practice; 6 teams).
Saturdays, Jan 10 through Feb. 28, game days at two separate locations.
Additional hours each week for planning, coordination, and communication with league, teams, and participating families (schedule to be determined in coordination with the coach and Director).
Spring, Summer, and Fall Schedule
Approximately two weeknight and one weekend basketball practices/clinics per week (schedule TBD in coordination with coach and director).
Regular weekday hours (approximately 4 hours per day on average) for planning, outreach, communications, coordination with program partners, etc. (specific days/times to be determined in coordination with the coach and Director).
Additional Requirements
Coach Across America coaches must complete the following requirements to ensure successful completion of the OJJDP service program:
Completion of the minimum required hours of service and training by the last day of the coach contract
Attendance at the Coach Orientation
Completion of bi-weekly timesheets
Attendance at days of community service
Attend/participate in Coach Across America trainings, meetings, and special initiatives
Attend Coach Training Institute (date to be announced by Coach Across America Program Lead)
Uniform Policy
Coaches must wear Coach Across America-branded t-shirts provided by Coach Across America when coaching and at program sessions and events.

Building Bridges Across the River (Building Bridges) provides residents east of the Anacostia River in Washington D.C. access to the best-in-class facilities, programs, and partnerships in arts and culture, economic opportunity, education, recreation, health and well-being. Founded in 1997, Building Bridges operates and leads collaboration at the Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus (THEARC), a hub for community organizations serving residents of Ward 8.
About Late Night League:In response to overwhelming feedback from a 2023 town hall meeting attended by over 100 Ward 8 residents, Building Bridges launched Late Night League at THEARC in early 2024 as a violence interruption strategy. The need for safe, positive, and engaging late-night activities for youth was clear. Late Night League was launched to promote wellness and provide a space for safe recreation within Washington, D.C.s Ward 8 community. Building Bridges hosts two eight-week seasons per year with 8-12 teams. The youth division engages ages 14-17 and the young adult division engages 18-24.
Coach Role and Responsibilities
This Coach Across America AmeriCorps coach will support Building Bridges Late Night League with an emphasis on growing girls participation in basketball. The coach will also support related programs outside of Late Night League including collaboration with on-site partners at THEARC such as the Washington School for Girls (WSG) and their basketball team. WSG engages girls from 3rd -8th grade.
Responsibilities will include:
Creating strategies and materials to promote and engage local girls in basketball
Engagement and recruitment at local schools and recreation centers
Facilitating basketball clinics and workshops (schedule to be determined in coordination with coach)
Supporting Late Night League games with attendance, registration, and day-of program support
Growing girls sports participation at THEARC with a goal of coaching a girls team in Late Night League
Collaborating with THEARC partners such as Washington School for Girls and the Boys & Girls Club
Developing and administering surveys and other methods of evaluation to gauge participant experience
Additionally, the Coach will:
Encourage participants to gain and develop life skills, knowledge, and techniques through sport, using lessons learned at Coach Across Americas best-in-class training events

Additional Requirements
Coach Across America AmeriCorps coaches must complete the following requirements to ensure successful completion of the AmeriCorps program:
Completion of the minimum required hours of service and training by last day of coach contract
Attendance at the Coach Orientation
Completion of bi-weekly timesheets
Attendance at days of community service
Attend/participate in Coach Across America trainings, meetings, and special initiatives
Attend Coach Training Institute (date to be announced by Coach Across America Program Lead)
Uniform Policy
Coaches must wear Coach Across America branded t-shirts provided by Coach Across America with AmeriCorps logo when coaching and at program sessions and events
Eligibility & Qualifications
Familiarity with DCs Ward 8 preferred.
Knowledge of basketball fundamentals required.
Prior experience playing basketball preferred.
Prior experience coaching or working with youth preferred.
AmeriCorps is open to U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents.
Members must be 18 years old, or 17 with written parental/guardian consent.
Members must have or be working toward a High School diploma, GED, or the equivalent.

Position Overview:
Our athletics department is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced eSports coach to supervise all aspects of our school eSports program, including instruction, coaching, and managing teams. Our games currently offered are (but not limited to) Rocket League, League of Legends, Super Smash Brothers, Madden and 2K.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Organize and coordinate team schedules for the eSports season
• Conduct player tryouts at the beginning of the season
• Plan and facilitate multiple practices per week

The Player Progression Academy (PPA) is the premier youth sports organization in the Washington,

Support & Lead: Assist in leading 23 practices per week, helping implement practice plans that focus
