Specific Duties 1. High School Offensive Line Coach The Offensive Line Coach is responsible for developing, teaching, and mentoring all offensive linemen within the football program. This coach will focus on proper technique, discipline, and execution while supporting the overall goals and philosophies of the head coach and offensive coordinator. Key Responsibilities: * Teach fundamental skills including stance, footwork, hand placement, run blocking, and pass protection. * Develop and implement weekly practice plans for the offensive line unit. * Evaluate player performance and provide individual instruction for improvement. * Work with the offensive coordinator to install game plans, protections, and blocking schemes. * Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive competitive environment. * Assist with film study, scouting reports, and opponent breakdown. * Ensure player safety through proper technique and adherence to conditioning standards. * Support the program through weight room supervision, offseason training, and character development. 2. Running Backs Coach The Running Backs Coach is responsible for developing all running backs within the football program. This coach will emphasize technique, ball security, vision, footwork, and understanding of the offensive system. The RB Coach works closely with the offensive coordinator to install game plans, align assignments, and prepare players for competition. Key Responsibilities: * Teach fundamentals including ball security, footwork, reads, pass protection, and route running. * Develop and implement daily drills and practice plans for the running backs unit. * Evaluate player performance and provide targeted instruction for improvement. * Assist in installing run schemes, protections, and offensive game plans. * Break down film and prepare scouting reports to help players understand defensive fronts and tendencies. * Promote discipline, effort, sportsmanship, and academic accountability. * Ensure player safety through proper technique and conditioning. * Support offseason training, strength programs, and player development. 3. Offensive Coordinator The Offensive Coordinator is responsible for leading, designing, and implementing the overall offensive strategy for the football program. This coach will oversee all offensive position coaches, develop game plans, teach scheme concepts, and ensure that players understand assignments and expectations. The OC collaborates closely with the Head Coach to maintain program culture, discipline, and competitive standards. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and install the offensive playbook, including run schemes, pass concepts, protections, and situational packages. * Create weekly game plans based on opponent scouting, film study, and personnel strengths. * Lead offensive meetings and communicate assignments clearly to players and staff. * Oversee all offensive position coaches, practice schedules, and drill progressions. * Call plays during games and make real-time adjustments based on defensive tendencies. * Break down film and prepare scouting reports for players and coaches. * Evaluate and develop players through consistent instruction and feedback. * Promote accountability, discipline, effort, and academic success among student-athletes. * Support offseason training, strength programs, and year-round player development. Title: Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach DBM Classification: N/A Department: Athletics Salary Range: $2,871-Tentative Amount Employee Group: Temporary/Seasonal Reports to: Athletics Director FTE/ FLSA Status: SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES The assistant strength and conditioning coach works directly with the head strength and conditioning coach to implement a program for athletes from all high school sports. The assistant strength and conditioning coach should be able to provide clear instruction to groups, as well as individuals, while holding athletes accountable to the expectations of the program. They must provide expert instruction in the execution of prescribed exercises and drills, and be able to tailor cues and exercises based on the needs of individual athletes. The assistant strength and conditioning coach will assist in maintaining the weight room and all equipment in it, taking safety inventory of equipment and recommending repairs/upgrades to equipment as needed. Program hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:30am-8:00am and 3:20pm-5:00pm. Occasional Friday and Saturday hours may be required. Hours may fluctuate based on athletic season. Professionalism, dependability and willingness to learn are priorities for this position. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Actively coach off-season and in-season workouts, as well as the middle school program. * Work with the head coach to design and implement programming for off-season athletes and in-season teams. * Maintain high standards for the care and respect of the training spaces. * Know, understand, and implement proper form and technique for strength training exercises as well as mobility, speed development and agility/change of direction. * Maintain self-control at all times. The weight room is an educational space and conduct should align with educational standards. * Reinforce the use principles of sportsmanship and fair play with athletes when discussing their performance, as well as other teams. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES * Ability to effectively instruct, motivate, and engage student-athletes while fostering a positive training environment. * Proficiency in teaching and correcting weightlifting, sprinting, jumping, and movement mechanics. * Serves as a role model, instills discipline, and encourages accountability in student-athletes. * Managing multiple teams, training schedules, and facility use efficiently. * Working closely with head coaches, athletic trainers, and administration to ensure training programs align with sports-specific needs. * Adjusting training programs based on athlete progress, team needs, and seasonal changes. * Demonstrating exercises and drills while maintaining an active presence in training sessions. * Ensuring proper equipment use, spotting techniques, and emergency preparedness. * Encouraging student-athletes to develop work ethic, resilience, and a commitment to improvement. * Adjusting training sessions in response to injuries, facility constraints, or individual athlete requirements. * Understanding how to structure strength and conditioning programs tailored to different sports, seasons, and individual athlete needs. * Rules & Regulations Compliance - Awareness of school athletic policies, state athletic association rules, and safety guidelines for weight rooms and training. PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Ability to demonstrate exercises and techniques, including weightlifting, cardiovascular drills, and mobility exercises. * Standing, walking, and moving for extended periods, especially during training sessions or group workouts. * Frequent bending, squatting, and kneeling to assist with exercises or correct form. * Able to move quickly to monitor athletes and ensure proper technique during exercises. * Lifting and carrying weights, dumbbells, kettlebells, or other training equipment (often up to 50 lbs or more). * Setting up and adjusting training equipment for various exercises or activities. WORK ENVIRONMENT * Training sessions often occur early in the morning, after school, or in the evening to accommodate athletes' schedules. * Weekends may be required for training camps, special events, or team competitions. * The coach must also be available during off-season training programs and for team-related events. * Works closely with athletes, coaching staff, athletic trainers, and sometimes nutritionists or physical therapists to ensure a holistic approach to athletic performance. * Frequent communication with head coaches to tailor training programs to specific team needs and goals. * Ensures that equipment is properly maintained, clean, and safe for athletes to use. * The environment must be free of hazards that could cause injury, including ensuring floors are non-slippery and equipment is securely stored. * Must adhere to health and safety standards, especially in regard to injury prevention and emergency response protocols. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * High School Diploma or GED - Minimum requirement for entry-level coaching positions, particularly at youth or community levels. * Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field is preferred. * Experience with high school and middle school athletes required. * NSCA-CSCS or equivalent certification is preferred. * Applicants with experience and a personal training or coaching degree or certification may be considered.
