REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics and principal FUNCTION: The Assistant Coach will aid in creating an environment that reflects the values and goals of the Heschel Athletics Department. The Assistant Coach is also responsible for collaborating with the Head Coach in organizing team practices, travel logistics and game management decisions. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a strong understanding of soccer and be able to instruct student athletes in the fundamentals, rules and strategies of the game. The assistant coach supports the head coach in organizing a soccer program that maximizes the educational and athletic potential of all student-athletes. SCOPE South Bronx United (SBU) is seeking energetic individuals with a passion for youth development and soccer to join our team of SBU Coach-Mentors. In the position, the individual will serve as a mentor and Head Soccer Coach for a travel team of boys or girls within the SBU Academy Program. As a mentor, the individual serves as the first point of contact for any issues regarding SBU student athletes on the team and as a positive influence promoting education, character, and community. As a coach, the individual will run twice-weekly soccer trainings and coach the team at weekend games. The coach will have the goal of keeping youth active, instilling fun, and helping youth grow as both players and students. This is a part time position from September to June requiring approximately 8-12 hours/week during the fall and spring seasons. Hours will decrease during the winter off-season (January-February) to 4-6 hours/week. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. What You'll Do You will be matched with opportunities to coach basketball at elementary school students at schools, buildings and communities across New York City. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks. In this role, you'll have the following responsibilities: Consistently arrive on location on time to get set up to teach your class Create lessons and practices that blend skill-building and gameplay Pick up the children from their teachers and be responsible for them throughout the class Manage the group of students, ensuring that they all behave in a safe and respectful manner Handle pick up of the students by their parents. Ensure that children are only released to people approved to pick the child up. Requirements Must possess, maintain and renew ASHI Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and Professional Rescuers, ASHI Basic First Aid, EPI and Asthma certifications or equivalent within 90 days of hire Must be a minimum of 18 years of age Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, techniques and game play situation Must possess the capabilities to teach using proper technique and proper progression Experience working with children Enthusiastic attitude Good communication skills to enable them to interact with and maintain positive relations with members, participants and staff Strong interpersonal skills

TGA Junior Golf of Upper Manhattan is just starting, the demand is through the roof, and we NEED COACHES! This posting is specifically for individuals who would love to teach the game of golf to KIDS. We are looking for responsible individuals who are passionate about teaching kids. TGA uses GOLF as the vehicle to teach kids ages 5-14 a skill, while incorporating education, character development, and proper etiquette. We do it in the comfort of their own school or community. We do all this while making FUN and SAFETY our two top priorities. Coaches can work 1 day per week all the way to 5 days per week, getting 2-5 hours per day during the school year and up to 6+ hours during the summer. We are looking for both lead and assistant coaches. Coaches must be at least 18 years of age. We train all staff on the TGA curriculum, so extensive coaching experience is not required. We have programs year round and work with coaches' flexible schedules. We have programs all over the UWS and UES and will do our best to schedule you close by where you would be traveling from. We will compensate for travel if we ask you to go more than 10 miles to a location. Flag Football is more popular than ever and U1 Sports is proud to partner up with NFL Flag and offer leagues in the Fall/Winter/Spring seasons. Flag Football is a non-contact sport full of fun and excitement. This Spring season, we are offering leagues at multiple locations with a coed division that accommodates players in Grades 1-8th, followed by an All-Girls high school division and Boys high school division. All games and practices in our Saturday League will take place at Riverbank St. Park (679 Riverside Drive) from 10am-11:15am. Our Sunday League will take place at the Fieldston School (3901 Fieldston Road) from 10am-12:00pm . The teams are balanced through a coach's assessment and draft. Qualifications: New Jersey teacher or substitute certification. Proof of experience required for Substitute certificate holder. Must be available daily during fall sports season including weekends. Must be certified in CPR and AED certified, holding a current certificate for both. Must obtain a "Concussion Awareness" certificate or its equivalent renewed annually. Must obtain a "Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness" certificate or its equivalent renewed annually. All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in "Sports First Aid."
