Position Objective: Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCC) tasks/goals at designated Army installation are to reduce medical attrition and increase Military readiness. SCCs will improve BDE readiness through Army specific functional fitness training programs, in accordance with (IAW) Field Manual (FM) 7-22 and designed to meet each BDE's Program of Instruction (POI) requirements. Services will target musculoskeletal (MSK) injury prevention and reconditioning education services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
SCCs will work as part of the H2F Performance Team to develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive, periodized education and services program integrated and synchronized with the BDE and Battalion (BN) training calendars. Success is determined by the ability of the BDE to perform its combat mission.
SCCs will perform services IAW the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or the Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) Scope of Practice.
SCCs will be embedded at the BDE level. Most work will be performed in a Military training environment (i.e. fitness centers/gyms, BDE or administrative areas, outdoors, ranges, field training environments, and at the SPRC).
SCCs will be required to observe BDE and below (i.e. BN, company, platoon, squad, team) specific training events (e.g., obstacle courses, combatives, training areas).
Support quality assurance efforts, ensuring all work performance aligns with H2F objectives.
SCCs may be embedded within H2F Performance Teams across BDEs at various Government installations.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university; it is highly desired that the degree is in a related field.
Must possess a passing score from the Board of Certification (BOC) by the NSCA as a CSCS or by the CSCCA as a SCCC.
Have three years of relevant SCC work experience within the last five years. Relevant experience is defined as developing and executing task and environment specific functional injury control and health/well-being programs for groups of athletes or DoD/Department of Homeland Security/Department of Justice entities focused on a common sport or mission performance goal. Please note - Employment related to internships or graduate work for only up to one year is considered as relevant experience.
Have a current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross with Automated External Defibrillators (AED) certification. Certification cards must display the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross emblem. Please note - Web-based classes do not meet required standards.
Must have the ability to read, write and speak English effectively with Soldiers and H2F staff.
Be physically able to lift and manipulate loads and weight plates up to 45 pounds.

The Director of Strength and Conditioning Coach provides comprehensive training programs to the student-athlete of George Mason University. These programs are to be designed to decrease the occurrence of preventable injury and enhance athletic performance in a safe and efficient manner.

The Opportunity
Our Coordinator's/Hosts' primary mission is to make league night the best night of the week for our members. Integral to our mission of making fun possible, coordinators/hosts lead the charge on the field, set the tone, and embody the United Fray brand. Being naturally enthusiastic, outgoing, and ready to play, they make fun possible for our members- whether that's creating their own league trophy, bringing a speaker along to the games to get the vibe just right, or starting a game of Flip Cup at the sponsor bar after the game. Coordinators/Hosts show up for every game, provide leadership to ensure that everyone is following the rules of the game, and are hands-on with respect to set up and tear down of events. Coordinators/Hosts are also brand ambassadors for the company, getting content while at leagues and tagging us so we can share in the fun with you.
What Youll Do.MAKE FUN POSSIBLE
Produce a fun and energetic experience for all players involved. From being a brand ambassador when you are out and about to running nightly operations for sports leagues including but not limited to field/location set up and break down, reffing/hosting the games, equipment transportation if needed, tracking scores, communicating with players, executing evening tasks, and acting as the local FACE of DC Fray.

Requirements Coordinator/Host:
Commit for the entire season (7-week season - Bar Sports; 8-week season Team Sports);
Must be able to get to scheduled game 30 minutes early and are encouraged to interact with players at sponsor bar location after the games;
Must have the ability to update the scores on a nightly basis (smartphone);
Must create a hospitable environment, provide organization, cheerleading, and general oversight of games in their league;
Must be able to attend New Hire Orientation and League Trainings;
Must send at least 1 weekly e-mail to communicate any changes, game times, news, or upcoming events (coordinators only, unless league only has one host);
Must maintain league equipment bag during the season when applicable (coordinators only);

The Head Coach organizes, coordinates, and promotes a comprehensive athletic program that is designed to:

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to participate in the sport.
Assesses player's skills and assigns team positions.
Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development.
Works with the athletics director in scheduling facilities for practices and competition.
Assigns duties to an assistant coach as necessary.
Observes players, during competition and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
Determines game strategy based on the team's capabilities.
Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior and provides proper supervision of athletes at all times.
Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met.
Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.

Follows MPCS and PWCS middle school regulations governing the athletic program.
Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
Acts as a team representative and promotes the sport by communicating with the news media and organizations.
Participates in special activities to include parent's night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
Maintains eligibility forms, emergency data cards, equipment inventory, and other related records.
Instructs athletes in individual and team fundamentals, strategies, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
Instructs participants on personal hygiene and safety procedures and in the need to report injuries to the coach immediately.
Fosters among the participants and spectators an appreciation of the values of athletics, a desire to win, an attitude of good sportsmanship, and a sense of pride in self, team, school, and community.
Directs the training, conditioning, and performance of the varsity athletic team and to lead, supervise, and assist the assistant coaches in their efforts with teams assigned to them.
Acts as a positive influence upon the behavior of members of his/her athletic staff and teams.

Responsible for the supervision of athletes at invitational meets or postseason competition.
Provides all students involved in the program a safe environment through adequate supervision.

Conveys the policies of the team, local school and MPCS to all participants and families.
Ensures compliance with rules, polices and regulations for PWCS Middle School Athletics and MPCS.
Submits rosters and paperwork to the Director of Athletic/Director of Student Activities.
Follows School Activity Funds Manual and local school policies involving financial transactions.
Establishes procedures for communicating with parents/guardians.
Implements appropriate procedures when handling injury situations.
Ensures availability of first aid kit and emergency care cards at all times.
Inspects facilities, equipment and environmental conditions to ensure the safety of participants.
Participates in professional growth activities.
Participates in the award program(s) in adherence of school procedures.
Provides an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship.
Performs other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the ability to effectively communicate and interact with other staff and the public through the
use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
