You are greeted by a team of 8+ world class A-Players, all fun & friendly, but also competitive & performance driven. You look at your schedule for the day & you like that you are on pace to end the week at the top of the coaching 1 on 1leaderboard.
You coach an adult class with ages 18-60 years old, 10-24 people in attendance. You prepped the turf & weight room to make sure you are good to go, you ensure the workout is on the white board, you have your whistle ready, & you get to work. You lead a dynamic warm up on the turf followed by an intense class with people transitioning between turf & weight room. You use your whistle, crank up the music, organize people, demo movements, & ensure a world class product. You end the 54-minute workout with an announcement & break down.
After this you have a few 1 on 1 clients to work with. An 8 year old soccer player who has never played followed by a 17 year old football player training for college. You write the programming, you schedule the client, you show up to coach, & you ensure a world class product.
You end the day with a scholastic class with ages 7-18 years old. You do exactly what you did with the adult workout from the morning...you provide a world classproduct.
You end the day with a message from a 1 on 1 client who lets you know that they just accomplished the goal that they set when you started training together 3 months earlier...you provided a world class product.

Job Description
The Head Coach, Men's Beach National Teams (BNT) is a highly experienced and motivated individual responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and daily operation of a centralized men's beach volleyball national team program. This role oversees athlete selection, training, competition preparation, and staff leadership while aligning program execution with Olympic-pathway objectives, international performance standards, and organizational priorities. They will work closely with other USAV/USOPC Performance Team members toward this end. Extensive international and some domestic travel is required for this position. Extended hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays. The position is located in Torrance, CA.
Requirements
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
Program Leadership & Strategy
· Lead and manage a centralized Men's Beach National Team training environment.
· Develop and implement annual and quadrennial performance plans aligned with Olympic qualification, Beach Pro Tour results, and long-term athlete development.
· Establish clear performance standards, behavioral expectations, and accountability frameworks for athletes and staff.
· Drive continuous program improvement using performance data, benchmarking, and post-event analysis.
Coaching & Athlete Development
· Design and lead daily training plans encompassing technical, tactical, physical, and mental performance components.
· Oversee athlete identification, selection, retention, and progression within the men's beach national team pathway.
· Implement consistent training methodologies, systems, and standards across the centralized program.
· Monitor athlete workload, readiness, and recovery in collaboration with performance and medical staff.
· Ensure athlete well-being, safety, and adherence to SafeSport and organizational policies.
Competition & Performance Management
· Lead Men's BNT athletes and teams in international competitions, including Beach Pro Tour, Continental events, and Olympic/World Championship qualification.
· Manage competition preparation, on-site coaching, and post-competition performance reviews.
· Set objective performance targets and evaluate results against established benchmarks.
Staff Leadership & Integration
· Recruit, manage, and evaluate assistant coaches.
· Ensure integration of BNT performance staff including strength & conditioning, sport science, medical, sports dietitian, and mental performance.
· Work collaboratively with A2 BNT coaches and Beach NTDP staff to align athlete development, training standards, and progression pathways.
· Conduct regular coaching and performance staff planning, alignment, and performance review meetings.
Centralized Operations & Administration
· Oversee daily operations of the centralized training environment, including training schedules, competition calendars, and athlete services.
· Collaborate with national office staff on budgeting, resource allocation, and logistical planning.
· Provide timely reporting on athlete progress, performance metrics, and program outcomes.
Stakeholder Communication & Representation
· Serve as the primary point of contact for Men's BNT athletes, staff, and internal stakeholders.
· Communicate clearly and consistently regarding selection criteria, performance expectations, and program decisions.
· Represent the Men's Beach National Team professionally at competitions, meetings, and organizational functions.
Compliance & Governance
· Ensure full compliance with IOC, FIVB, NORCECA, USOPC, SafeSport, and organizational policies.
· Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and athlete safeguarding.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in physical education, related degree, or equivalent work experience.
· Extensive coaching experience at the elite or international men's beach volleyball level.
· Demonstrated success leading high-performance athletes and teams.
· Proven ability to manage a centralized daily training environment.
· Experience with volleyball statistical analysis software.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
· Self-starter takes initiative to solve problems.
· Must successfully pass a USAV background screen (prior to hire date).
· Must complete SafeSport training within two weeks of hire date and keep current as a condition of continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Graduate Degree in Physical Education or related field.
· Ten (10) plus years of elite level experience as a coach in beach volleyball.
· Familiarity with data-driven performance management and Olympic-pathway planning.
· Olympic experience as a coach or athlete.
· Demonstrated success as a beach coach at an international level.
· Experience with beach volleyball specific statistical analysis software.
Salary: $125,000 - $145,000
