The Boys Varsity Assistant Golf Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Coach throughout the spring playoff stretch, including planning and leading practices, coaching matches, and transporting the team to off-campus sites in a school vehicle. At Bush, boys golf is a split-season sport, with regular season play in the fall and postseason competition (conference and state championships) in the spring. In collaboration with the Athletic Department and Head Golf Coach, the Playoff Coach will support and prepare 8 to 10 boys golf student-athletes who have qualified for postseason play. This position reports directly to the Athletic Director. The golf spring playoff season begins on Monday, April 6, 2026, and continues through the conclusion of the state tournament on May 20, 2026. Practices are held Monday through Thursday between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. and will not exceed two hours per day. Practices typically take place at Jefferson Park Golf Course and other local golf courses. Coaches generally meet athletes on campus, travel together to the practice or match site, and return to Bush at the end of the day. There is the possibility of being retained on the coaching staff for the 2026-27 school year, which includes regular season play in the fall and postseason competition in the spring. While other duties may be assigned, qualified candidates will be able to manage the following key responsibilities and tasks: Provide a positive, inclusive, safe, and challenging experience for participants Teach sport-specific skills, strategies, training methods, and safety practices Communicate with athletic department staff effectively and promptly Attend meetings and trainings scheduled by the Athletic Director Handle student health forms with confidentiality, be aware of individual health concerns, and respond appropriately to medical needs.
