SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide leadership, training, and supervision to student-athletes in a specific middle school sport, fostering skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth within the framework of the school's athletic program. Serves as a positive role model for students, promoting a healthy and ethical approach to competition.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, organizes, and leads engaging and developmentally appropriate practice sessions
Teaches fundamental skills, team strategies, and rules and regulations of the sport.
Helps athletes develop physical conditioning, techniques, and tactical understanding.
Analyzes individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
Prioritizes the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices, competitions, and related activities.
Enforces safety procedures and ensures proper use of equipment and facilities.

Completes and maintains required safety training, including CPR and AED certifications.
Complies with the APSAP Coaches Handbook and supports an inclusive program that encourages participation from all interested students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
21 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 64 semester hours from an accredited college or university, preferred.
Basic understanding of the sport and willingness to learn coaching techniques.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to demonstrate physical skills associated with the sport, including running, throwing, catching, or other sport-specific techniques.
Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time (typically several hours at practices, games, or competitions).

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience coaching/participating in sports at the high school or collegiate level preferred
* Prior coaching experience is desirable
* Knowledge of NFHS, IHSSA, and/or other applicable rules and regulations
* Knowledge of basic First Aid and Athletic Training practices
* Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, coaches, and community while fostering a positive atmosphere

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Coaches individual student athletes in mechanics and skills necessary for achievement in competitive sports.
* Coordinates and supervises a regular schedule of practice.
* Encourages sportsmanship and team unity and enforces all sportsmanship guidelines.
* Enforces discipline of contest, school, conference and state rules and regulations.
* Supervises coaching staff; provides opportunity to enhance their professional development.
* Oversees the safety conditions and accountability issues involving students and facilities located both on NAFCS properties and at off campus facilities.
* Maintains accurate records of uniforms, equipment, individual/team statistics, and accomplishments.
* Submits required forms and athletic documents; recommends purchase of equipment and supplies.
* Attends required meetings and clinics for coaches, State and conference selection, and Athletic Boosters.
* Provides and displays a willingness to work with Athletics Department Administration, staff, student athletes, and parents with a dynamic practice and game schedule.
* Develops a total K-12 program, on and off season, through camps, drills, and training.
* Coordinates and develops effective and sustainable fundraising plan with Athletic Director that is easily communicated with administration, players, coaches, media, and community.
* Coaches may need to transport athletes in corporation vehicles from time to time, a valid drivers license is required to meet this responsibility.
* Performs other related duties as assigned by Principal, Athletic Director, and/or other designee.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide leadership, training, and supervision to student-athletes in a specific middle school sport, fostering skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth within the framework of the school's athletic program. Serves as a positive role model for students, promoting a healthy and ethical approach to competition.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, organizes, and leads engaging and developmentally appropriate practice sessions
Teaches fundamental skills, team strategies, and rules and regulations of the sport.
Helps athletes develop physical conditioning, techniques, and tactical understanding.
Analyzes individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
Prioritizes the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices, competitions, and related activities.
Enforces safety procedures and ensures proper use of equipment and facilities.
Follows established procedures in case of athlete injury or emergency.
Completes and maintains required safety training, including CPR and AED certifications.
Complies with the APSAP Coaches Handbook and supports an inclusive program that encourages participation from all interested students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
21 years of age.

Minimum of 64 semester hours from an accredited college or university, preferred.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to demonstrate physical skills associated with the sport, including running, throwing, catching, or other sport-specific techniques.
Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time (typically several hours at practices, games, or competitions).
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment weighing up to 50 pounds (e.g., balls, nets, coolers, gear bags).
Ability to work in outdoor conditions for extended periods, including varying weather (heat, cold, rain).
Visual and auditory ability to observe and assess student-athlete performance, as well as respond to emergency situations quickly.
Sufficient mobility to respond quickly to on-field incidents or emergencies.
Manual dexterity to operate scorekeeping equipment, manage team gear, or administer basic first aid if necessary.
