BASIS Independent Brooklyn Upper is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Head Coach to lead our Girls' Middle School Volleyball program. Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive vision and philosophy for the girls' middle school volleyball program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic success.
Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices and training sessions that focus on fundamental skills, advanced techniques, game strategies, and physical conditioning. Provide constructive feedback and individualized instruction to student-athletes.
Develop and implement game strategies and tactics. Make informed decisions during competitions to maximize team performance.

Prioritize the academic progress, physical health, and emotional well-being of all student-athletes. Serve as a positive role model and mentor.

Oversee and mentor any assistant coaches, ensuring alignment with the program's philosophy and goals.
Stay current with coaching techniques, rule changes, and best practices in volleyball.
Qualifications:
Previous successful coaching experience at the middle school level or equivalent
Comprehensive knowledge of volleyball techniques, strategies, and rules.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
Demonstrated commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

In the position, the individual will serve as a mentor and Head Soccer Coach for a travel team of boys or girls within the SBU Academy Program. As a mentor, the individual serves as the first point of contact for any issues regarding SBU student athletes on the team and as a positive influence promoting education, character, and community. As a coach, the individual will run twice-weekly soccer trainings and coach the team at weekend games. The coach will have the goal of keeping youth active, instilling fun, and helping youth grow as both players and students.
This is a part time position from September to June requiring approximately 8-12 hours/week during the fall and spring seasons. Hours will decrease during the winter off-season (January-February) to 4-6 hours/week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve as a Mentor for a team of approximately 20 youth (mentees):
● Serve as first point of staff level contact for the mentees.
● Help plan, set, and keep students on their program schedule.
● Maintain weekly contact with each mentee in person and via phone.
● Maintain regular contact with mentees' parent/guardian.
● Help SBU Education Director monitor student academic performance and assist
in the collection of student report cards, transcripts, and school documents.
● Work with SBU Youth Counselor and Education Director to identify social,
emotional, and academic issues or concerns.

● Hold a weekly call with SBU office staff to discuss progress of each
student-athlete on the team.

SCHEDULE

We are seeking passionate and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Golf Coach for Kids. This role involves teaching the game of golf to children ages 5-14, emphasizing not just skill development but also the joy of playing sports. Our coaches are crucial in fostering a love for golf through fun, interactive lessons that incorporate education and safety.
Coaches can work part-time, with opportunities ranging from 1 day to 7 days a week, offering 2-5 hours of work per day during the school year, and potentially more during the summer months.
No extensive coaching experience is required, as we provide training on the TGA curriculum. However, a love for working with children and a positive attitude are essential!

Requirements
Must be at least 16 years of age
Availability during after-school hours (2:30 PM and later)
Reliable transportation

Willingness to commit to at least one full season
