Job Description:
Garfield Heights City Schools is seeking a dynamic and motivated coach to lead and inspire our student athletes. As an essential member of our team, they will serve as a mentor and role model to our athletes, fostering their personal and athletic growth. Key Responsibilities:

The Assistant Football Coaching Instructors work under the Head Football Coaching Instructor, providing essential support for the organization of the program and the implementation of game and practice plans. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The Assistants will respond to directives from the Head Football Coaching Instructor, providing instruction and administrative support while ensuring strict compliance with all governing bodies, including NCAA, NCAC Conference, and institutional regulations. Additionally, these roles include designated responsibilities regarding the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.

* The Assistant Football Coaching Instructor will help facilitate practice time to include such responsibilities as: implementing drills and game plans into practices, offering input for game strategies, and providing advice for specific plays or game tactics. The Assistant will assist players in the learning process, and track of players' punctuality and participation in practices when needed.
* Assist the lead instructor and coordinator in elements of practices and games to include preparation, effective execution of drills, one-on-one development work with athletes as warranted and fulfillment of game day responsibilities.
* Assist the Head Football Coaching Instructor with the development of strategies for a successful program, including well-organized practice plans and participation in the development and execution of game strategies.
* Assist with the monitoring of academic progress and meet with individual student-athletes to ensure academic success and compliance with university and NCAA academic standards.
* Mentor student-athletes as to proper conduct and decorum.
* Comply with the Head Football Coaching Instructors' philosophy and assist with communicated this philosophy with all stakeholders.
* Assist with the evaluation and recruitment of prospective student-athletes, and the tracking of them through the SLATE system.
* Help coordinate official visit itineraries for prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA requirements.
* Assist in the development of community outreach programs and promotional activities in collaboration with internal staff, and assist in approved fundraising activities as designated by the head coach.
* Represent the department and institution to internal and external constituents.
* Help coordinate all administrative requirements for the team, including: travel arrangements and itineraries; equipment and uniform purchases.
* Work in conjunction with the Head Football Coaching Instructor and the Strength and Conditioning Instructor to design and implement targeted development and training programs appropriate to the specific needs of athletes and teams.
* Attend rules education sessions and complete necessary forms for compliance upon request.
* Follow proper procedures for purchasing and resource allocation, and monitor spending.
* Supervise coaches within the program as assigned.
* Assist in the coordination of team player tryouts and selection.
* Attend athletic department meetings and collaborate with the Head Football Coaching Instructor and Athletic Director / Assistant Athletic Directors on schedules, programs, and engagement.
* Participate in pre-season and post-season meetings and programs as appropriate.
* Assist in developing and providing instructor-led rules training to the team, athletic department, and others upon request.
* Responsible for positive public relations and communications with constituents.
* Support the Head Football Coaching Instructor's decisions.
* Work closely with athletic trainers and follow injury protocol.
* Responsible for adhering to a system of budget management and accountability.
* Follow all University and NCAA policies and regulations.
* Meet all deadlines for paperwork (i.e., rosters, physicals, officials' ratings, etc.).
* Exhibit enthusiasm towards athletes and display respect for the entire program (i.e., officials, opponents, parents, schools, property, equipment, etc.).
* Dress appropriately and professionally for games, practices, recruit/family visits, and other school/athletic functions.
* Foster school spirit by promoting other sports.
* Maintain fair, consistent, and appropriate relationships with student athletes.
* Maintain composure and exemplary conduct during practice and games.
* All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
* Minimum of one (1) year of collegiate coaching experience or two (2) years successful coaching experience as head or assistant coach at the high school level or equivalent experience.
* Must have a valid driver's license and maintain certifications in CPR and AED.
* Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently
* Ability to effectively communicate with diverse constituencies.
* Must understand and comply with NCAA, conference, and University rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
* Interest in understand and supporting John Carroll's mission to inspire individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and in the world.
Preferred Qualifications
* Demonstrated ability to motivate students in a positive manner.

Normal Work Location, Hours and Conditions
Extensive travel involved. University core business hours are generally 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. However this position will require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on the nature of competitive and recruiting schedules.
Physical Requirements
Ability to demonstrate the physical movements of the sport. Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other office locations and to verbally communicate and exchange information.

The Role

Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of golf industry experience or graduation from a PGM program.
Proven one-on-one and group coaching experience preferred.
Strong understanding of swing mechanics, ball flight laws, and launch monitor data.
Proficient with video analysis and comfortable with golf technology tools.
Excellent communication skills - able to connect with golfers of all skill levels and explain complex concepts clearly.
Energetic and engaging personality with the ability to facilitate fun, group-based learning experiences.

Bachelor's degree preferred.
PGA or LPGA affiliation and/or PGM program graduation are strong pluses.

Title Assistant Football Coach, Offensive Coordinator - Athletics Job Description Ashland University is an NCAA Division II institution that competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), one of the most highly respected NCAA Division II conferences in the country. Ashland University offers a comprehensive 24-sport athletic program. The university is located off of Interstate 71 in Ashland, Ohio, midway between Cleveland and Columbus.
* Candidates must be able to teach proper technique and skill development in various aspects of football. Candidates should have a complete and thorough understanding of the sport and be able to instruct student-athletes in small group and one-on-one settings.
* The offensive coordinator will work closely with the head football coach and other members of the football staff in developing daily game plans, weekly practice plans and during the playing season, offensive game plans for upcoming games.
* This position requires the ability to evaluate the playing ability of student-athletes. It also requires the ability to work with student-athletes and help them develop to their full playing potential.
* The offensive coordinator will work with other coaches and student-athletes in reviewing game film of opposing teams and players. This position will help craft scouting reports.
* The offensive coordinator will be actively involved during the off-season in recruiting, spring practice, summer workouts, camps and clinics hosted by the AU football program and other activities assigned by the head football coach.
* This position should be committed to continuing education as a coach and be willing to attend and meet with other coaches and football staff members from around the country.
* Applicants should be well versed and able to instruct student-athletes on physical health, team concepts and team building exercises, team development techniques and safety.
* A thorough understanding of NCAA and GMAC rules and regulations is required. The assistant coach must adhere to these rules and help ensure that the program is in compliance with all rules, regulations and guidelines. The ability to articulate these to student-athletes is also required.
* An understanding of Ashland University's mission and goals is required. Applicants must have the ability to explain these to student-athletes.
* This position requires the ability to recruit potential student-athletes. This position will assist the head coach in meeting all Ashland University roster requirements.
* This position could require other assignments as assigned by the athletic director. These could include fundraising, game management and representing the athletic department at various functions.
* The offensive coordinator reports to the Head Football Coach and the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree is required.
* Candidates must have the ability to successfully impart football knowledge.
* Previous coaching and/or playing experience on the college level is highly desired.
* The ability to identify and recruit student-athletes is required.
* This position requires well-developed communication skills, as well as strong time management and organizational skills.
* The ability to work weekends and evenings is required. This position requires extensive travel, both in recruiting and to games.
