As Assistant Coach, the position will have specific responsibilities assigned by the Director of Athletics and the Head Coach of the program, which includes recruitment of qualified student-athletes, supervision of student athletes, assisting in planning practices and scheduling appropriate competitions under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, and any other responsibilities deemed necessary to complete the job successfully.
The Assistant Coach will be responsible for recruitment of traditional students to participate in intercollegiate athletics at the University. The coach is also responsible for participating actively in team recruitment activities, including on and off campus programs, assisting in the development and implementation of marketing/recruiting strategies, and supporting set office policies and procedures. This position requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work in a high-volume, fast-paced and goal-oriented atmosphere both independently, and as part of a unified team. This position reports to the Head Coach under the supervision of the Director of Athletics and will assist in supervising student athletes, managers, and statisticians.
Candidates must have previous Coaching experience (preferably at the collegiate and NCAA III level).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Each Assistant coach's responsibilities and expectations include but are not limited to the following:
1. To teach and uphold the mission of Carlow University and the Philosophy of Carlow Athletics and the core values embedded in each.
2. Assist the head coach in Planning, developing and executing a season long plan for the student-athletes on your team.
3. Plan and attend all practices, scrimmages and home and away competitions.
4. Adhere to University and Athletic Department policies both written and those established and considered customary and usual operating procedures, particularly with regard to travel and business policies.
5. Provide and demonstrate positive support to other Department staff, teams, student-athletes, and all other Carlow University personnel.
6. Assist the head coach in Designing and implementing an appropriate preseason, and off-season conditioning program.
7. Successfully recruit quality student-athletes with proven academic achievement and athletics skills
8. Emphasize the academic and athletic balance for each student-athlete & member of your team.
9. Successfully assist head coach in retaining and graduate athletic recruits
10. Successfully manage team dynamics and maintain professional, non-social relationship with student-athletes
11. Regularly communicate with the Director of Athletics, Sports Information Director, Athletic Trainers and Admissions Counselors (both in and out of season) and respond to requests for information in a timely manner.
12. Help manage and maintain equipment and uniform inventories.
13. Represent Carlow University positively at on and off campus events.
14. Attend University events when requested by the Director of Athletics; Attend all department meetings.
15. Adhere to NCAA III, USCAA and AMCC Conference rules; maintain statistics and submit all information, i.e. results, statistics, award nominations (scholar-athlete, all conference, etc.) info in a timely manner
16. Regularly check email, voicemail and campus mailbox and respond as needed in a timely manner.
17. Report injuries and emergencies to appropriate personnel
18. Report any issues with equipment, vans, facilities to the Director of Athletics.
19. Represent the Department of Athletics positively to opponents, officials, fans and other members of the Carlow community.
20. Create and model a positive environment that promotes academic and athletic achievement and enhances the student's overall intercollegiate athletic experience.

Assistant Cross Country Coach
Chatham University welcomes applications for the position of Assistant Cross Country Coach in our Athletics department.
The Assistant Cross Country Coach at Chatham University supports the head coach in the planning and execution of all aspects of the cross country program. The individual in this role will be responsible for assisting with daily practices, meet preparation and execution, and the holistic development of student-athletes, both on and off the course. This is a part-time position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Attend and assist with daily practices and scheduled meets.
Provide sport-specific skill instruction, motivation, and support to student-athletes during practices and competitions.
Support the development and implementation of meet plans, including logistics and strategy.
Assist in meet day execution, including management, on-site coaching, and post-meet evaluation.
Participate actively in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes in coordination with the head coach and the Office of Admissions.
Attend local and regional high school and club meets to identify and engage potential recruits.
Demonstrate a genuine commitment to the social, emotional, academic, and athletic development of student-athletes.
Model leadership, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions with scholar-athletes, staff, and the broader community.
Qualifications:
Previous cross country running and/or coaching experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work evenings and weekends, including meet travel.
Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities
Conduct, delegate, and organize six-week progress check-in's to help clients reach their fitness goals
Work closely with the Studio Manager to maximize customer retention and manage member accounts
Recruit and schedule a sufficient amount of fitness coaches to service each member and guest that completes a BODY20 session or demo
Establish monthly goals in sessions, lead generation, demos and demo conversion for all Fitness Coaches
Monthly evaluation of Fitness Coach in sessions, lead generation, demos serviced and demo conversion
Onboard and Train all new Fitness Coaches
Administer InBody evaluations and BODY20 sessions
Maintain knowledge and/or participation in all club services, programs and products
Adjust and operate all EMS and Fitness Equipment to BODY20 standards
Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership skills
Current nationally recognized Personal Training certification (preferred)
CPR/AED certification (preferred)
1-3 years of previous Personal Training experience (preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possess honesty and personal integrity
Possess passion, ambition, drive, and knowledge regarding the fitness industry
Excel in time management, organizational and follow-up skills
