Definition of Classification: The Assistant Football Coach will assist the Head Coach in multiple aspects of the operations of the football program. Must be knowledgeable and competent in first aid and emergency procedures (valid American Red Cross first aid card and American Heart Association, or other authorizing agency, CPR card, California Athletic Trainer Certificate), coaching techniques, rules and regulations, and psychology as it relates to sports participation. Must complete mandatory CIF Coaching Principles training or provide verification of completion. Must complete mandatory Concussion and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training and provide verification of completion. Must apply and obtain the Activity Supervisor Clearance Certificate (ASCC) through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing if a teaching credential is not currently held; the application fee is $100. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of all Education Code and Title 5, California Code of Regulations requirements for coaching eligibility.
