Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate Head Coach will support Head Coach with all aspects of the King Crew program grades 6-12, including scheduling and running practices and training sessions on and off the water for both the Middle School and Varsity programs, coordinating weekend regatta travel and lineups, and providing leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of the program.
The Associate Head Coach will also be expected to uphold and promote the mission and philosophy of the King School and the Athletic Department.
Fall, winter, and spring season activities vary between on-campus and on-water practices depending on weather and tide. On-water sessions are held on the Mianus River in Greenwich, CT out of the Row America boathouse. Winter indoor training takes place on King's campus.
Responsibilities and Primary Duties:
Draw from a strong working knowledge of crew and rowing to help plan and facilitate daily, meaningful practices for middle school and varsity athletes, and execute effective teaching/coaching techniques during races.
Help oversee the direction of King Crew from Varsity to middle school and mentor other assistant and Middle School coaches.
Work with the Head Coach, Dean of Athletics and Admission Office, providing outreach to prospective student-athletes.
Work with Head Coach and College Counseling Office, supporting students who are recruited or interested in rowing at the next level.
Help coordinate out-of-season and summer activities and training for student-athletes in program and recommend/develop enrichment opportunities for all grades.

The Youth Team Coach is a part of a team of coaches who are responsible for delivering practice content to our youth climbing teams and crafting the experience for all levels of Youth Team. Youth Team Climbing Coaches partner with Youth Team Managers to plan and execute programming that results in transformative experiences for youth athletes and teaches life skills through sport climbing.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and support transformative experiences for athletes while ensuring team activities promote our core values and a sense of belonging in team members
Work with the Youth Team Manager and other coaches to follow the season schedule and deliver the daily instruction for this level of team including Comps, Events, Training plan etc.
Coach at practices of this level of team, and competitions as needed based on athlete attendance.
Provide supervision for youth climbers who will be bouldering and belaying.
Assist Youth Team Manager with administrative duties for this team level, including monitoring team rosters, tracking belay training, organizing practice notes, and communicating with parents.
Effectively communicate any issues or concerns with coaching staff and the management team in a timely manner.
Collaborate with Youth Team Manager and other coaches to facilitate mentorship opportunities and personal development for their team level.
