Springfield College seeks applications for an Assistant Professor for Strength and Conditioning within the Department of Exercise Science and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is a full-time, nine-month, program-track position within the School of Physical Education, Performance and Sport Leadership beginning August 2026. Expertise in the field, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and a strong commitment to professional endeavors and service activities are expected.
We are seeking a faculty member with expertise in Strength and Conditioning to oversee strength and conditioning services and teach courses within the graduate strength and conditioning and sport science programs. Course topics may include strength and conditioning applications and strength and conditioning internship. Additional responsibilities will include academic advising and oversight of graduate assistants and student interns.

Officiate hockey games in accordance with established rules and regulations from start to finish Each game is officiated by two hockey referees and one scorekeeper.
Check the nets and playing surface for pucks before the start of any game.
Inspect and ensure player equipment before the game to ensure it complies with safety standards
Wear an official hockey referee jersey, solid black pants (not tucked into skates), and a HECC approved helmet without a cage. (Visor or No Visor is allowed).
Manage the pace of the game, ensuring that it flows smoothly and without unnecessary delays.
Maintain control over confrontations and altercations between players.
Resolve disputes and conflicts between players, coaches, and other team officials in a fair and professional manner.
Assess and administer penalties to players) that commit infractions stated in the Rulebook applied.
Keep track of penalty time and ensure players serve their penalties appropriately.
Fill out a suspension form with a clear, detailed, and legible description of the incident that occurs and ensure all officials sign the form.
Have a full understanding of the Rulebook and apply the rules in the games officiated.
Make impartial and quick decisions on issues such as goals, penalties, and offside plays.
Consult with fellow officials when necessary to reach accurate decisions.
Communicate with players, coaches, and team captains to address concerns, provide explanations for calls, and maintain a respectful environment on the ice.
Address any safety concerns regarding player equipment promptly.
Help scorekeepers if necessary and ensure the scorekeepers are paying attention to the game. Act professionally on and off the rink when engaging with customers.

Position: Club Basketball Coach
Comp: The Coaching Stipend is generally $800-$1200 per team, based on Experience/Professionalism/Evaluation
9 week season (April Vacation Week off) from roughly 3/9 until 5/17
Practices either Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs in Southborough (at night starting sometime between 5:30-7:30pm for 80-90 minutes)
Tournaments/Games on 6 weekends from late March until roughly 5/17 (generally within a 30-45 minute drive from Southborough)
For most teams, the season is over the week before Memorial Day Weekend
Position Overview
We are looking for responsible/professional people who know the sport well and have played it for at least 5 years
Key Skills: Active/Vocal style, Positive/Encouraging, Good Communicator, Strong EQ
Experience: Ideally there is some coaching experience, but if they haven't coached yet we would still consider the candidate if they can demonstrate they possess the key skills
Passion: we need coaches who love the sport and want to help the next generation....and who will greatly enjoy the multi-year bond they form with their team(s) as they watch the players grow into young adults and improve their game (not coaches doing it for the money)
Coaches will be working with Boys and Girls Grades 4-12 (mostly Grades 5-10). Some teams have players that are really advanced relative to grade, while other teams have average players looking to play more and develop
In the past, we've found success with people in their 20s who's lives aren't busy yet with children (or college students in some situations). We also have coaches who's kids are out of the house (or at least in High School), the schedule works for them, and they miss coaching as they no longer coach their kids

1. Assist in all aspects of teaching skills and strategies for the football program with a specific emphasis on coordinating the defense.

3. Serves as mandated Title IX Responsible Employee and Campus Security Authority.
