Supervise student athletes before, during, and after practices and contests; including in the locker rooms, on buses, and at all other times. The coach will be at all practices and games on time and will not leave until all students have left.
Know how to apply basic first aid, maintain and utilize athletic department assigned first aid kit, and complete an incident report for injuries or problems that occur at any athletic practices or games.
Execute district and facility emergency protocols.
Condition athletes with developmentally and age appropriate activities that include: endurance, strength, and agility.
Conduct practices which place emphasis on the importance of teamwork, skill development, learning rules and strategies, and student athlete improvement.
Maintain a current spreadsheet of athletic inventory for the program and be in charge of cleaning, storing, and maintaining all assigned equipment.
Provide activities secretary with missing inventory fees (jersey, equipment, etc.)
Varsity head coaches are expected to promote the program during the off-season and communicate with all lower-level coaches within the program.
Follow through on all required paperwork including, but not limited to online coaching orientation, updated and current rosters, and parent consent forms.
Adhere to all district handbooks, as well as the WHSAA handbook.
80 account knowledge and understanding ie., eligible uses and fundraising.
Manage district on-line forms, ie., transportation requests, leave requests, fundraisers, etc.
Perform other duties assigned by the building Principal or Athletic Director.

Administrative Duties
Assists the head coach in scheduling, providing transportation to contests, tournaments and special sport events.

Provides documentation to the athletic administrator needed to fulfill state and local requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent and eligibility.

Responsibilities to Student Athletes
Assists the head coach in distribution of training rules, covenants, LCSD#2 Athletic Handbook, and any other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete who is considered a participant.
Supervises practices, games and team trips. Takes all necessary measures to safeguard each participant.
Is present at practices, contests, meetings and any other assigned duties by the head coach.
Equipment and Facilities
Monitors equipment rooms and coaches' offices and authorizes who may enter.
Permits athletes to be in authorized areas at the appropriate times, and supervises them.
Examines athletic facilities before and after practices and games, checking on general cleanliness of the facility.
Secure all doors, lights, windows and locks before leaving building if custodians are not on duty.
Instills in each player a respect for equipment and school property, its care and proper use.
Program Responsibilities

Issues press releases and school announcements as assigned.
Instructs team members concerning changes in rules. Teaches fundamentals of the sport as outlined by the head coach.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
