Coastal Pacific Food Distributors (CPFD) has TWO (2) Full-Time, Transportation Dispatcher positions open in the Ontario Distribution Center, Transportation Department. Salary Range $27 to $29 per hour. Coordinates and schedules drivers for pick-up and delivery in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. Provides administration functions to facilitate shipping activities in the Distribution Center. Works closely with Shipping, and Receiving teams to coordinate and support warehousing and distribution functions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Schedules drivers for pick-up and delivery; selects most efficient routes for each driver.
* Oversees equipment availability; assigns drivers, trucks, and extra drivers when needed.
* Consolidates orders into truckloads for specific destinations.
* Anticipates weather complications along routes and at the drivers' destinations; communicates delays and route changes as necessary.
* Maintains radio and/or phone contact with drivers; receives and dispatches response and emergency aid when needed.
* Maintains and reviews billing and operation records; monitors daily logs for errors and/or compliance violations.
* Monitors drivers' working hours to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
* Assists in overseeing maintenance and repair schedules for vehicles.
* Assists in the training and onboarding of drivers which may include safety, ELD processes or driver tablet app processes and processes related to gate access passes
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
* Keeps management informed of progress, issues and proposed changes in the operation
* May assist in making backhaul and other appointments

Job Requirements:
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required. In the absence of formal education, experience that is equivalent and directly related may be substituted.
Experience: This position requires one or more year's related experience with a proven track record in warehouse and distribution center operations.
Knowledge: Position requires knowledge of personal computers and associated business software (MS-Word, Excel, and Access preferred).

Stack products onto wooden and plastic pallets securely
