To thrive as a Machine/Filling Operator with Behr, you must be eager to learn. You don't need any previous experience or knowledge about paint or manufacturing, although it's a bonus. We'll teach you everything you need to know, which makes this a perfect starting point to launch your career. You'll cross-train on multiple lines so you are able to assist with any role on any line that needs help.
At the start of each workday, you'll be assigned to one of the production lines. If working on a solo line, you'll oversee filling and case-packing. If it's a dual-operator line, you and a partner will do each role. If you see anything that looks off, you will pull the item. This can be a can or box label with a misprint, a lid that isn't on properly, a cardboard case with a loose flap, or any number of other things. You will also periodically pull cans to weigh them and make sure the filling equipment is working to our weight parameters. You will also do changeovers between various paints, make sure the cardboard machine stays full of cases for packing, and assist anyone else as needed.
Here's what we're looking for from you:
* Excellent attendance. We can't stress this enough. Operators are the most vital part of this operation.
* A commitment to safety. We are very proud of our safety record and want you to be a part of that. You will be required to wear proper safety equipment, including steel toed shoes at all times.
* A desire to learn and grow. We hope you will think of this as the beginning of your career here. Some of our facility managers started as third shift operators, and we hope you grow with us, too!
* Physical ability. You will be on your feet for the entire shift. You'll be lifting individual paint cans or sometimes full cases of 4 cans, which can weigh up to 50 pounds. This will happen several times a day.
* A high school diploma or GED is required.
Here's what we offer you:
* Filling Operators start at $19.50/hr. Team members will receive a $0.50/hr increase at 6 months of employment and another $0.50hr increase at one year of employment.
* Check out behr.com/careers to view a comprehensive list of our benefits and perks.
* Quarterly and holiday bonuses are available.

You will also periodically pull cans to weigh them and make sure the filling equipment is working to our weight parameters. You will also do changeovers between various paints, make sure the cardboard machine stays full of cases for packing, and assist anyone else as needed.
