Salary - and Duty Location Recruitment Incentives - and Benefits
Annual Base Salary for newly appointed CBPOs varies as follows:
GS-9: $61,111 - $124,443 per year
Note: A fully trained CBPO is eligible for up to $45,000 in overtime pay in addition to the starting salary.
Officers are eligible to select from an array of federal employment benefits that include health, dental and other insurance plans, generous annual and sick leave, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan.
LOCATION INCENTIVES: If you accept one of the duty locations listed below, you may be eligible to receive an additional 15%-25% of your salary each year for the first three (3) years of employment in addition to any overtime pay. Some locations may offer 25% for four (4) years.
Duty locations offering 25% recruitment incentives: Otay Mesa, San Francisco, San Ysidro, and Tecate, CA; Key West, FL; etc.

Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-9 grade level in one of the following ways: experience, education, or a combination of both.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes:
Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using the proper law enforcement methods.
Enforcing laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and/or international shipping.
Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats.
Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity.
Education Substitution: A master's (or higher) degree or an LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university; OR
Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of specialized experience AND successfully completed graduate-level education.
Other Requirements:
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Residency: Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.

BHE GT&S has an exciting career opportunity as an LNG Plant Control Systems Technician/Senior LNG Plant Control Systems Technician located at our Cove Point Facility located in Lusby, MD. RESPONSIBILITIES The LNG Plant Control Systems Technician / Sr LNG Plant Control System Technician (DCS) reports directly to the DCS Supervisor and is a member of a multi-disciplined crew responsible for the SAFE Operation and Maintenance of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import /export and re-gasification terminal including LNG process systems infrastructure controls, emergency response, electrical and emergency power generation, turbines, auxiliary control support systems, PLC, and Distributed Control System (DCS).
Dedication sensitivity to safety issues and compliance with policies and procedures is essential for the safe reliable and efficient operation of the terminal. The LNG Plant Control Systems Technician / Sr LNG Plant Control System Technician (DCS) specific job responsibilities include the following:
The successful candidate must be willing to work in an industrial environment, including time spent performing DCS technician engineering room and field work including the inspection, testing, service, repair, configuration, calibration, and installation of automated control systems, Human Machine Interface (HMI) consoles, network hardware, and related components that would be found in industrial facilities such as a power station, chemical plant, manufacturing facility, petrochemical NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing or hydrocarbon facility.
Work on complex and detailed control systems, troubleshoots and repairs control and network systems, and replaces component parts as required.
Under the supervision or direction of an experienced Senior or Lead, maintain the DCS network hardware and configuration, perform changes to existing Emerson DeltaV logic and HMI graphics, GE MK VIe or Woodward Combustion/Steam Turbine Controls, Allen Bradley and other local Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) and other duties as assigned.
Performs periodic backup on all DCS / PLC controllers, network and supporting computers.
Submit drawings and configuration changes made on the DCS, network, and field instrumentation following the site's modification and MOC process.
Assist in training and guiding less experienced Technicians and addressing Operations control system concerns.
Obtain a basic understanding of all plant DCS, Safety Instrumented System (SIS), PLC, LNG regasification and liquefaction processes and control systems.
Understands control systems for plant utilities, including air, water, power generation, and nitrogen Monitors or assists in the loading/unloading of LNG ships.
May perform the duties of an LNG Technician (DCS) in a rotational shift environment, including holidays, weekends, and nights.
Participates in training on environmental safety, operations and security procedures.
Recognizes the safety and environmental consequences of actions taken.
Maintains the highest levels of environmental and safety compliance.
Performs all duties applying safety protocols and adhering to regulatory mandates.
Reviews and analyzes alarm history to improve operational efficiencies and eliminate nuisance alarms
Assists in the development, implementation, and execution of OT cybersecurity policies and procedures.
Manages updates on all cybersecurity OT compliance software used for asset inventory, whitelisting, intrusion detection, password vault, disaster recovery, and intrusion detection.

QUALIFICATIONS
Plant Control System Technician:
2+ years of related experience. Applied knowledge of automated control system instruments such as flow meters, pressure gauges, thermocouples, regulators and other industrial components
Competency in performing Distributed Controls System (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) changes in logic, graphics, control loop configuration and network configuration.
Previous work experience demonstrating technical knowledge of Emerson DeltaV, ABB Infi-90 and Allen Bradley control systems. Knowledge of environmental regulation compliance systems. Ability to provide guidance and/or training to less experienced Technicians and Operators.
Competent in workstation and server software and hardware troubleshooting and repair.
Strong computer skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel Analytical and deductive reasoning skills, oral and written communication skills, technical writing skills, instrumentation skills, and mathematical skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve equipment or process problems.
Ability to conduct site inspections or walk downs, including working at heights.
Ability to recommend changes to DCS, instrumentation drawing and configuration documentation.
Sr Plant Control System Technician:
A minimum of 5+ years direct experience with operations, instrumentation, DCS, PLC's and Computer systems.
Applied knowledge of automated control instruments such as flow meters, pressure gauges, thermocouples, regulators, and other industrial components.
Full competency in performing Distributed Controls System (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) changes in logic, graphics, control loop configuration and network configuration.
Previous work experience demonstrating technical knowledge of Emerson DeltaV, ABB Infi-90 and Allen Bradley control systems.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and the associated control and data acquisition systems.
Ability to provide guidance and/or training to Technicians and Operators.
Competent in personal computer software and hardware troubleshooting and repair.
Strong computer skills with a knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
Strong analytical and deductive reasoning, oral and written communication, technical writing, and mathematical skills.

Qualifications:
Seven (7) years of Experience with the required system as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment.
Of the Seven years, one (1) year of Experience as an Instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include presentation skills, public speaking, curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.
