The Mask came out in 1994 and featured a club by the name of Coco Bongo, supposedly located in Cancun.
The first one to open, back in 1996, was in Cancun.
Based on the idea from the movie, however, a real-life Coco Bongo did finally open its doors in Cancun, but not until 1997.
At the end of 2008, the famous disco opened its doors in another Mexican city: Playa del Carmen.
In 2014, it arrived in the Bavarian area of Punta Cana, which has a large number of resorts.
