ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Experience preferred in leisure, social, and recreational activities working with children, seniors, and special need clients consisting of instructing or assisting with in-door activities such as games, bingo, dance, exercise, special events, arts and crafts, and other group activities in a recreation program or facility setting. High School graduate or equivalent diploma. Experience using multi-lined phone system and personal computers, including Microsoft Office Suites, is preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
During occasions of local emergencies this position may be required to report to perform emergency tasks, which may result in extended work hours as well as extended periods of time away from family members. The Incident Commander and the employee's department Head will make the determination as to who will be required to work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work is generally sedentary to light and may require exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 25 pounds frequently to move objects.

JOB SUMMARY:
This is journey-level mechanical work in the installation, maintenance and repair of air conditioning equipment and energy management control systems. An incumbent in this class is responsible for installing, performing skilled repairs and providing preventative maintenance on light and heavy duty air-conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment, ice machines and water coolers. Work includes installing equipment in accordance with specifications, making necessary adjustments for effectiveness and energy conservation and dynamic testing. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Installs cooling, heating and refrigerating systems and components according to blueprints and specifications; assembles and connects internal piping and external drainage lines; installs and checks electronic and mechanical operation and temperature controls.
* Lubricates machinery and recharges systems with refrigerant; inspects for refrigerant leaks and faulty components; effects repairs; replaces parts.
* Operates equipment; adjusts temperature sensing devices; modifies air intake and output for desired effect.
* Prepares and maintains work records and reports as required by E.P.A.; estimates labor and material requirements; maintains inventory records.
* Coordinates repairs and maintenance activities between the City and contract maintenance vendors.

Here's your opportunity to assist our Environmental Section by conducting technical and administrative work related to regulatory requirements and compliance matters. You will have the chance to routinely interact with consultants, land owners, and citizen groups, answering questions about wetlands, water resources, permitting, compliance and the District's Regulatory Division. This position is essential to the Environmental Section to continue to meet metrics and regulatory time frames.

The starting salary range is included for the Environmental Scientist profile which reflects the
minimum to 39.9% of the respective pay grade.
The starting salary will be based on the education and experience of the successful candidate. The District conducts annual performance evaluations that may award applicable pay increases based on positive employee performance.
Essential Functions
Evaluation and issuance of permit applications:
Review both in the field and in the office environmental aspects of applications.
Gather any pertinent information from various sources to assist in review.
Document findings and make decisions regarding Rule criteria including determinations during field visits about wetland/surface water locations.
Perform limited supervisory tasks. Temporarily assign applications and review permits:
Review letters from Evaluators and interact with author(s) regarding issues that may need correction/modification within the letters.
Sign off on environmental issues in correspondence.
Assist in training staff and providing technical and professional assistance:
Assist Evaluators on project review by providing examples of similar projects.
Assist with formulation of applicable comments, providing appropriate resources, and encouragement.
Assist in compliance/enforcement activities as needed:
Provide information on historic site conditions, evaluate site if needed, and provide information regarding a previous evaluation or permitting for a particular project.

Additional Details
This position is typically scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, out of the Tampa, FL office, however some remote work may be available. This position is eligible for compensatory time for hours worked over 40 hours, in a week.

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of a certified operator or the Chief Operator, performs technical work in the operation of an advanced water treatment plant facility on an assigned shift.
