Principal Engineer
Cocreativ 3.9
Cocreativ job in New York, NY
About Us globaledit, a division of CoCreativ, is the leading provider of a powerful SaaS platform that optimizes and accelerates creative production. We are Private Equity-backed, based in New York City & Los Angeles with a well-established client base. Our Clients include leading fashion brands, retailers, and entertainment companies - including Morphe Cosmetics, Rag and Bone, and Warner Bros. This role is a hybrid position based onsite in our offices in Tribeca 3 days per week.
The Role
We need a technical visionary who gets things done. You'll work with a team of 14 engineers, building and scaling a serverless platform that handles creative production workflows for major brands.
This isn't a job where you sit in meetings all day. You'll be in the code, making architecture calls, mentoring engineers, and shipping features. You'll work closely with Product to shape what we build, bringing technical perspective to prioritization and planning.
Your team operates with autonomy. Your job is to set direction, remove blockers, and make sure we're solving the right problems the right way. We need someone who can balance "let's move fast" with "let's not break everything."
What You'll Do
Build and Ship
* Make architectural decisions for our serverless platform - you own the technical direction
* Review code, challenge approaches, and guide the team toward better solutions
* Jump into our most important technical problems and get hands on in the code
* Identify what's slowing us down (tech debt, process, tooling) and fix it
Drive Results
* Work with Product to translate "what we need" into "what we're building"
* Keep an eye on AWS costs and performance
Our Stack
We run a modern, serverless architecture on AWS:
* Backend: C#/.NET on Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions
* Frontend: React on S3/CloudFront
* Infrastructure: CloudFormation for IaC
* Tooling: Azure DevOps (repos, pipelines, project management)
* Plus: Electron desktop app, React Native iOS app, Photoshop plugin (maintained but not frequently updated)
If you're comfortable with AWS serverless and have worked with similar technologies, you'll be fine. We don't need you to know every tool on day one.
