The successful candidate will be an experienced and self-motivated building inspector who will perform all levels of electrical inspections for communities that operate their own electrical program. This would include all aspects of electrical inspections for commercial and residential projects.
This position will be responsible for on-call inspections for any of our clients that we serve as needed and coordinated by the program director.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular on-site and virtual inspections of construction sites and review construction plans to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
Prepare reports and documentation on building code compliance and ensure that records are maintained and up to date.
Coordinate with jurisdictional clients on requested inspections and with other BHC inspectors and plans examiners.
Coordinate with clients, applicants, jurisdictional staff and other jurisdictional inspection agencies.
Utilize jurisdictional documentation protocols from carbon copy documents to internal database systems such as Accela, TraKit, SmartGov, PermitTrax, iWorQ, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
IAEI electrical inspector certification or ICC electrical certification
ELO1 Electrical License
Five years of agency electrical inspection experience.
Comfortable reviewing electronic plans using Bluebeam and Adobe tools
Experienced with database and spreadsheet programs
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Must have and maintain a valid Washington State Driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Licensed in the State of Washington as an Electrical Engineer
ICC mechanical code certification

This position works mostly in a remote work environment.
This position requires driving to or being at construction sites at various locations around western Washington primarily with some assignments in other areas of the state.

Appointment to the higher class requires that the employee be performing the full range of duties for the class and meet the qualification standards for the class.

NOW Hiring: Plumbing Inspector I/II (or) Interim Plumbing Inspector
Under direction of the Plumbing Supervisor, the Plumbing Inspector I and II (or) Interim Plumbing Inspector is responsible for performing inspections, evaluations, investigations, and consultations in compliance with applicable program standards, state laws and rules, local regulations, Board of Health policies and services in alignment with the agency's adopted mission and vision, community needs, and federal, state, and local mandates.
This position focuses on providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of Franklin County Public Health.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Inspects plumbing systems and medical gas systems to conformance with approved plans, specifications and approved engineered design. Uses Ohio Building Codes to ensure jobsite compliance to the rules of the Ohio Board of Building Standards and to NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code.
Plumbing Inspector I/II: Reviews blueprints and engineering drawings for compliance and provides technical advice to design professionals, contractors, owners, and operators regarding Ohio Plumbing Code and/or local regulations.
Interim Plumbing Inspector: Prepares detailed reports on daily plumbing activities (inspections, investigations, evaluations, complaints) and maintains related records.
Works with other staff, sections, and departments providing environmental health plumbing knowledge in relation to plumbing code and/or communicable disease investigations.
Routine interaction with public officials, citizens, vendors, clients, patrons, and applicants to gather and process information; cooperative/coordinating responsibility with other departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Interim Plumbing Inspector:
High school diploma or equivalent and 7 years of practical and verifiable installation experience in commercial plumbing
Interim Plumbing Inspector Certificate issued from the Ohio Board of Building Standards
Successfully complete and pass the examination modules required by the Ohio Board of Building Standards for Plumbing
Inspector within 1-year of employment by Franklin County Public Health as an Ohio Board of Building Standards certified Interim
Plumbing Inspector
Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet insurability requirements.
Plumbing Inspector I:
High School diploma or equivalent and 7 years of practical and verifiable installation experience in commercial plumbing
Plumbing Inspector Certificate issued from the Ohio Board of Building Standards
Plumbing Plans Examiner Certificate issued from the Ohio Board of Building Standards and/or ASSE 6020 Medical Gas Inspector Certification
