* Develop and maintain Cognos Reports that interface primarily with Deltek Costpoint Modules.

Role Cognos TM1 Developer

Location: Plano, Texas

Duration: Contract / FTE both

About The Role

The Planning Analytics Developer is responsible for the design and implementation of TM1 Turbo Integration Processes and Cube Designs. They primarily work on the expansion and maintenance of the Integration Processes and rules for bringing data from Enterprise Financial system into cubes for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. The successful candidate will drive the scale out and sustainability of the enterprise planning and analytics environment, support budgeting and rolling forecast processes, as well as perform other business partnering and decision-support activities. The ideal skill set would include a finance and information systems background, Cognos TM1 expertise, Planning Analytics on Cloud implementation experience, strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidate should have experience leading multiple moderate to high complexity financial planning and business intelligence end-to-end project implementations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement financial planning solutions using IBM Planning Analytics to achieve project success, including cubes, rules, dimensions, T1 process/chores, web sheets (Static and Active forms) and turbo integrator processes.
• Perform data discovery/quality analysis and architect a solution in TM1 based upon customer requirements.
• Ensure the successful delivery and implementation of modifications into the production environment.
• Model, design, and create Cognos TM1 Cubes.
• Create and administer security at all levels, client-groups, cubes, dimensions, and processes.
• Integrate various relational database platforms in design and development of ETL processes and relational databases into reporting cubes.
• Provide incident management support to users of TM1/Planning Analytics. Analyse and resolve cross-functional data issues.
• Work with business users to design and develop reports using PAX, PAW.
• Build sustainable relationships with technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Create and maintain technical design and administrative.
• Advocate best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
• Installation of Cognos TM1/Planning Analytics.
• Migration activity of Cognos TM1/Planning Analytics.
• Manage TM1 database assets with version control software.
• Participate in daily stand-up calls and Agile Sprints.

Experience & Education

• 10+ years of Cognos TM1 work experience in developing end-to-end analytics solutions, including system configuration, model building, data security, and reporting.
• Experience developing in Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW).
• Strong hands-on knowledge of TI processes, rules for cube-to-cube data flows, and customized workflows.
• Expertise in the design and development of large-scale integrations between Enterprise-wide Data Warehouse & TM1/Planning Analytics.
• Excellent communications, presentation skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization on a regular basis.
• Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or related field.
• Expertise in developing Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting Models.

The individual will have the following daily objectives / tasks:

• Design, Develop, and enhance Cognos Framework Manager data models
  • Will need to understand risk data
  • Will need to understand the relationships amongst the risk data entities
  • Will need to effectively query the underlying physical data model for testing and troubleshooting of the Framework Manager model
  • Will need to make suggestions on how to optimize report query performance by reducing report queries that can be shifted to tables that are pre-generated or pre-aggregated
• Develop new and enhance existing Cognos reports
  • Will work with business leads to understand requirements
  • Design the report to conform to requirements
  • Advise users on design choices or alternatives if requirements cannot be achieved or users don't fully understand the relationships between the various data entities or data dependencies
  • Unit test business reports
  • Get user signoff for developed reports
  • Deploy reports to the various environments
• Take part in non-Cognos report development activities
  • Will be expected to eventually develop on other data consumption and auto report generation capabilities of the system
