Quality Assurance Supervisor Job in Milton, NY
Main responsibilities:
Assure the application of GMPs and prescribed Quality Control/Assurance Parameters for all necessary checks that ensure safe and high-quality products based on each customer's quality requirements.
Be involved in food safety and food quality audits activities, in chemical training.
Actively participate in developing Line & Laboratory improvement initiatives.
Primary duties and responsibilities
Perform all pre-start, in-process, and finished goods checks in a timely manner and ensured all specifications are met adequately.
Approving Batches
Making Lab Solutions
Being able to understand and run the HPLC.
Micro-plating
Be punctual and reliable.
Breaking Down the cases brought down of finished products
Purge the Retain area
Make send-out and retain stickers
Record all Microplates in the microbiological book.
Making Sugar approvals
Give batch sheets numbers given by bulk.
Make packets for the line (if necessary)
Research and developing Lab Batches.
Computer literate.
Able to perform physical and mental work that requires total concentration and precision.
Be self-motivated and be able to manage your time wisely in order to accomplish all the daily tasks required, such as water checks, line checks, approvals, calibrations, etc.
Able to distinguish between and determine through the use of sight and taste the proper color, clarity, cloudiness, and taste of all products. Also differentiate between the flavors we run and be able to detect off tastes like carry-over taste, chlorine, salty and metallic, etc.
Know how to conduct all tests required in the lab including but not limited to measuring Brix, CO2, Total Acidity, and other tests as required by the lab.
Verify/approve the batches and know what is needed to do adjustments in order to inform the Bulk department.
Be able to understand and follow all company policies, practices and SOP's.
Ensure that all SOP's are followed to prevent any product defects.
Communicate & coordinate quality issues & activities with QA/QC Managers.
Follow all Customer's quality requirements provided.
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects.
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
2-year Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biology or Laboratory Science.
2-3 years of demonstrated experience in a food manufacturing environment or Laboratory Testing environment (preferred)
1 year of demonstrated experience in a supervisory role (preferred)
Understanding of GMPs, QA/QC SOPs, and food safety and quality audits
Speak, read, and write English.
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Schedule: Monday through Saturday - 5:00 PM - 3:30 AM
