The role of the finishing operator is to ensure the packaging, labeling, and finished product are correct per our customer requirements in our work instructions as the operator performs the functions of packing, glove pull, and basket return. Duties and Responsibilities The finishing operator performs the following tasks: Rotates regularly to perform the basket return, hand packing of gloves, and glove pull-off former tasks. Qualifications Able to stand on floor performing tasks for a 12-hour period Able to perform manual hand packing of gloves at rate Able to pay attention to detail Working conditions Work Hours: Position operates in 12-hour shifts Overtime: compensated according to labor laws. The case specification must also be reviewed to make sure that the instructions are clear and concise prior to running the order. The operator is responsible for ensuring all make-readies are put on as quickly as possible. The operator inspects the product quality including folded score caliper, proper gluing and stacking, carton and score alignment, and case fit, and ensures that the machine is in good running condition. The operator ensures that the Leary glue and mix detection system is constantly functioning correctly. The operator is also responsible for shutting down the machine if it is to be left unattended.
