1980

1980 First establishment in South America

the Indian Ocean region, by acquiring GTE (Grands Travaux de l’Est) in 1980 – the first building block of the Group’s expansion in this part of the world;

1981

Asia, by participating in a joint venture to build the Jakarta airport, in 1981.

1987

In its position in the SITP, Colas, which posted revenues of FFr 8.5 billion in 1987, found itself together with two of its principal French rivals, the companies Screg and Sacer, both of which were also Bouygues subsidiaries.

1993

1993: Sacer of France is acquired.

1997

A similar move was undertaken in 1997, when Colas took over the Screg operations.

1999

By 1999, Colas's revenues of FFr 29.5 billion, for net income of more than FFr 500 million, gave it the leadership position in the worldwide road construction market.

2000

2000 Foundation of Seco-Rail In October 2000, the Colas Group acquired the rail activities of Desquenne et Giral and founded Seco Rail.

The public exchange offer for Colas shares in 2000 gave Bouygues over 96% of the Group's share capital and voting rights.

2003

2003 Foundation of Amec Spie Rail Amec took over Spie and set up Amec Spie Rail.

2008

2008 The foundation of Colas Rail Founding of Colas Rail, born from the merger of Seco-Rail and Spie Rail.

Oceania, where Colas acquired the Australian group Drawmac in 2008.

2011

2011 Establishment in Asia

2014

*Colas' stake in Cofiroute was sold in 2014.

2015

2015 Establishment in the Adriatic region

Designed by the Campus for Science and Techniques in collaboration with the INES (National Institute of Solar Energy), unveiled in 2015, Wattway is the first photovoltaic road surface in the world.

2018

In 2018, Colas completed the largest acquisition in its history when it bought the Miller McAsphalt Group.

2019

In 2019, Colas celebrated its 90th anniversary.
