Collaborative company history timeline

1868

Today known as Missionaries of Africa, this Catholic group was founded in 1868 by Cardinal Charles Lavigerie, archbishop of Algiers and Carthage in North Africa.

1895

Clark Park, established in 1895; view from Baltimore Avenue near 44th Street

1913

City Line Bridge, barrel arch bridge constructed in 1913, which crosses the East Branch of Indian Creek in Overbrook Farms; National Register of Historic Places

1924

Built in the Late Gothic Revival style, this historic high school opened in 1924.

1949

In 1949, officials in Rome requested that White Fathers missions (which numbered over 100) administer a 600-item questionnaire about the cultural, spiritual, political, and social realities of people living in the territories surrounding the missions.

2007

The Center for Collaborative History (CCH), established in 2007, serves as the special activities funding arm of the Department of History, including the Shelby Cullom Davis Center for Historical Studies.

2021

Join the Public History Collaborative (PHC) and the Department of History for a weekly webinar series, "At Home Cooking & History: An At-Home Webinar Series," starting Sunday November 21, 2021, from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM!

During Spring 2021, the ~50 quilt blocks will be made into two quilts. (The quilt blocks featured in the banner were created by #moverestbee participants.) Once the quilts have been made, they will be exhibited at the university, the public library and throughout Tucson.
