About the role:
The Hardware Design Librarian curates, develops, reviews, and helps publish ECAD content that meets industry standards and customer requirements. You'll partner closely with component and semiconductor manufacturers to understand their data sources, formats, and distribution mechanisms, and you'll support Altium to optimize content integration. This role is highly collaborative-working with engineering, business, and product teams-and favors systems thinkers who automate processes over manual effort.
A day in the life of our Hardware Design Librarian:
ECAD Content Publishing: Curate, develop, review, and assist with publishing ECAD-related design content aligned to industry standards and customer needs.
Manufacturer Engagement: Collaborate with component and semiconductor manufacturers to understand data sources, formats, and distribution mechanisms.
Content Integration: Maintain a high-level understanding of Altium's content systems to streamline and optimize content integration workflows.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, business, and product development teams to support ECAD content initiatives and deliver solutions.
Automation Mindset: Identify opportunities to automate and systematize processes, reducing manual effort and improving scalability.
Who We're Looking For
Required: Hands-on Altium Designer experience and knowledge of other ECAD tools is a plus
5+ years of work experience within electronic industry
Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering
Strong understanding of ECAD design and (ideally) CAD models
Solid grasp of design principles and workflows
Software understanding preferred; fluent at the HW/SW boundary
Background as a systems or embedded engineer, or HW/SW product development generalist
Reference design and embedded solutions knowledge
A track record of bringing product to market
Strength in data analysis and process optimization
Oriented toward solutions, with a bias to automate rather than rely on manual processes
Strong Communications skills, verbal and written

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $130,000.
Actual compensation packages within this range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate and role requirements, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.

UVA Library is seeking a Metadata Librarian in the Metadata and Discovery Services (MDS) department. This position develops, implements, and accomplishes the goals and objectives of the MDS department in alignment with the strategic priorities of the Scholarly Resource & Content Strategy (SRCS) division and the University of Virginia Library. This position creates, enhances, and maintains descriptive metadata and metadata standards to improve discoverability and support interoperability with the appropriate metadata schemas, content standards, and controlled vocabularies.
The incumbent serves as the primary Metadata authority across the institution with a focus on indexing, mapping, crosswalking, maintaining, and enhancing Metadata. While the position focuses primarily on creating and maintaining non-MARC Metadata schemas and standards, the incumbent also collaborates on MARC Metadata to ensure interoperable metadata. The Metadata Librarian engages in departmental initiatives to promote reparative Metadata descriptions and support inclusive Metadata practices.

Job Responsibilities
Metadata Management - 90%
* Provides leadership to MDS in designing and executing policies, guidelines, and profiles for metadata projects involving non-MARC metadata schemas and standards.
* Develops non-MARC workflows to plan, coordinate, and conduct metadata enhancement to improve discoverability.
* Serves as an expert consultant on the development and implementation of metadata projects with a focus on best practices, quality control, tools, procedures, workflows, and standards.
* Utilizes software tools to analyze and transform metadata, while also cultivating knowledge of programming languages (i.e.: Python or R) to automate tasks with scripts and manipulate metadata.
* Collaborate on strategies for utilizing sematic technologies, such as RDF, schema.org, SPARQL, and existing collections.
* Creates and maintains local documentation on metadata standards and application profiles.
* Collaborates on the planning and development of sustainable solutions for optimizing metadata management, interoperability, and integration of metadata across systems.
* Assesses developments in local, national, and international Metadata standards and policies.
Professional Activities - 10%
* Engages in metadata initiatives within the UVA Libraries and the broader university community.
* Assesses, observes, and participates in national areas of interest regarding metadata librarianship.
* Participates in professional associations, working groups, task forces, instructional programs and committees with the goal of implementing metadata tools that innovate current metadata manipulation processes.

* Experience: 4-9 years (post degree/experience equivalency).
Librarian III:
* Education: Master's degree in Library Science from ALA Accredited program or relevant graduate degree. Experience equivalency substitution (per Department of Labor Equivalency Guidelines): Bachelor's + 4 Years relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
* Experience: 9 or more years (post degree/experience equivalency).
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with established metadata and cataloging tools and standards and demonstrates a willingness to learn, while also viewing challenges as opportunities for professional growth
* Familiarity with evolving technologies and standards in resource description (e.g.: BIBFRAME, RDA, and RDF) and identity management (e.g., ORCID, VIAF, and BIBFRAME, et cetera).
* A commitment to explore and incorporate innovative tools that elevate digital accessibility and boost operational efficiency of metadata management and knowledge of metadata sharing and harvesting practices (e.g., OAI-PMH), metadata mapping, and linked data.
* Knowledge of analytical and transformational metadata tools (i.e.: OpenRefine, MarcEdit, et cetera) and programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data manipulation, automation, and harvesting.
* Familiarity with sematic web technologies (e.g., RDF, schema.org, SPARQL, et cetera).

The Metadata & Discovery Librarian supports student success and lifelong learning by ensuring library resources are accurately described, easily discoverable, and consistently accessible. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICIATIONS
Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS), Library and Information Studies (MLIS), Information Science (MSIS), Library Science (MLS), or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in cataloging, metadata, library systems, or related technical services work. A combination of relevant coursework, internships, graduate assistantships, or supervised field experience may count toward this requirement.
An additional two (2) years of experience in any combination of the following: cataloging, metadata, library systems, technical support, library administration, access services, information literacy instruction, or research assistance.
Demonstrated knowledge of national cataloging and metadata standards.
Knowledge of and experience with a cloud-based library services platform.

Job Overview
This position is a member of the University of Cincinnati Libraries Research & Data Services Group, which is focused on providing valuable research data services to the UC research community. Essential Functions
* Leads library services related to research data management, data analytics, AI in research, and other tools for quantitative data analysis and visualization.
* Performs instruction and consultations related to data management planning, analysis, visualization, and AI-related research tools and assists research community with identifying meaningful insights from data and metadata sources
* Designs and delivers workshops and consultations on the use of AI in research as well as topics such as data-driven automation and algorithmic bias
* Promotes and communicates best practices for ethical and reproducible data creation, and responsible use of generative AI, specifically in research and scholarship production, to members of the University of Cincinnati research community

We seek a proactive and creative candidate for a faculty librarian position to join a dynamic team of liaison librarians in the Humanities and Social Sciences Department. The candidate will serve as liaison to the Departments of Architecture, Graphic Design, Art History, and Landscape Architecture. Responsibilities
• Serve as a liaison to and lead outreach activities to the College of Arts and Architecture, the Department of Architecture, the Department of Graphic Design, the Department of Art History, and the Department of Landscape Architecture;
• Acquire and maintain resources in multiple formats, including monographs, electronic resources, and databases. Work with librarians in related subject areas and libraries including Commonwealth Campus Libraries and Big Ten Academic Alliance peers to develop collaborative collections;
• Initiate and conduct course-related instruction to engage and empower learners in the relevant disciplines and provide support for overall information literacy efforts;
• Develop content, including course guides, subject guides, and other instructional and outreach materials in assigned areas;
• Provide reference assistance and research consulting at all levels, both face-to-face and online. Serve as the subject expert for Architecture, Graphic Design, Art History, and Landscape Architecture. Participate in the Ask-a-Librarian online reference service providing research support to students, faculty members, staff, and visiting scholars;
• Collaborate with University Libraries colleagues to support the planning and management of the Architecture and Landscape Architecture Library;
• Engage in research, scholarly publication, and professional service activities in areas appropriate to academic librarianship and the disciplines served;
• Contribute to the advancement of Penn State Libraries' programs for scholarly communication, open access (OA) initiatives, and open educational resources (OER);
