This role supports the B.A. in Social Work degree, which is delivered through online asynchronous, distance-based Zoom, and hybrid modalities, including our rural-intensive cohort. The faculty member will teach three to four courses per semester-including SWK F103: Introduction to Social Work and upper-division 300-level major courses-while also recruiting, advising, mentoring, and supporting a diverse student population.
The successful candidate will be responsible for high-quality instruction across all program modalities; curriculum development and modification for distance delivery; and holding office hours appropriate to the courses taught. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the position includes a service component involving participation in departmental, college, and university committees; community and public service activities; support of program accreditation processes; and serving as faculty advisor for at least one student organization.
To thrive in this role, the successful candidate will be a collaborative, student-centered educator with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to teaching Social Work at the university level. They will bring experience with distance-education technologies and an understanding of multicultural and rural social work practice, particularly in ways that align with CSWE accreditation standards. The Term Instructor of Social Work is a full-time, nine-month, bipartite (teaching and service) faculty position within the University of Alaska Fairbanks, College of Liberal Arts, Social Work Department. This role supports the B.A. in Social Work degree, which is delivered through online asynchronous, distance-based Zoom, and hybrid modalities, including our rural-intensive cohort. The faculty member will teach three to four courses per semester-including SWK F103: Introduction to Social Work and upper-division 300-level major courses-while also recruiting, advising, mentoring, and supporting a diverse student population.
The successful candidate will be responsible for high-quality instruction across all program modalities; curriculum development and modification for distance delivery; and holding office hours appropriate to the courses taught. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the position includes a service component involving participation in departmental, college, and university committees; community and public service activities; support of program accreditation processes; and serving as faculty advisor for at least one student organization.
To thrive in this role, the successful candidate will be a collaborative, student-centered educator with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to teaching Social Work at the university level. They will bring experience with distance-education technologies and an understanding of multicultural and rural social work practice, particularly in ways that align with CSWE accreditation standards. The ideal applicant will be able to make effective decisions under pressure, build and maintain community partnerships, and contribute positively to a diverse and collegial academic team. A commitment to multicultural values, the ability to advocate for the Social Work program and the university, and familiarity with Alaska Native or Indigenous communities are highly valued, with experience in distance teaching strongly preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program and at least two years of post-MSW professional social work practice in human services, behavioral health, child welfare, or related community-based settings required.
Preferred: Previous university-level teaching or training experience in social work or a closely related discipline. Experience working with Alaska Native, Indigenous, or rural populations, demonstrating cultural competence and community engagement. Experience teaching or developing distance-delivered or online coursework. Evidence of a commitment to public service and community collaboration consistent with the mission of the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Troth Yhedda' campus in Fairbanks, Alaska, and flexible on-site/hybrid or remote work arrangements within Alaska or the United States may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. As our Identity and Integration Developer, you can! In this position you will work closely with a team of security coordinators representing data stewards from the team that supports all aspects of the Banner system and related products. This role is three parts doer, one part mentor, one part liaison, and the two parts researcher. In this position you will support security coordinators and your team, ensuring appropriate access is granted internally, and granting processes are refined to reach best practices. You would be expected to routinely meet with security coordinators to help them be successful in their positions. You will also be responsible for understanding current practices for integration into the Banner and be able to help others follow them. You will also be expected to help us get to a better place in on-boarding, off-boarding, and some of the overall identity and access management initiatives the University of Alaska is pursuing. Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelors in a relevant field (i.e. Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related field) or equivalent experience in software development, in a large and complex systems environment. Our focus on a degree in computer science or information technology is in the context of having sufficient information and experience in developing, running, or managing complex environments. Generally these two degree paths will require that scholars learn how to write software and in many cases with the focus of that software is either on-demand self-service or for general automations that this group routinely facilitates. We prefer writing software to achieve the action over doing repetitive actions by hand.
3 to 5 years experience in a range of software engineering projects and/or assignments with progressive responsibility. This is intended to mean you have experience writing software and people trusted you more over time. If you have been doing that at least 3 years, we'd expect you to be a good fit.
1 to 2 years experience supporting identity and access management. In this context, our ideal person would have this experience in supporting a person in our Ellucian Banner product named Banner Access Management and be very familiar with granting access using these current models. We would be interested in anyone who has broader understanding of these concepts, as they would likely find it easy to understand the product model and can look for ways to use best practices and how we can make a positive impact on the rest of the organization.

Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, or equivalent experience.

* This experience must demonstrate a working knowledge of cleaning processes and equipment; training and providing direction to staff; and involvement in or advanced knowledge of corporate safety programs.
* A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy.
* Must have intermediate skills operating Microsoft Office applications.
* Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to: drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment and hearing test. Applicants not located near a testing facility are responsible for paying for travel to the nearest testing facility.
