Special Education Bus Driver - The qualifications for this driver are same as the regular drivers; however, the ability to understand and to handle special needs students is given strong consideration. The special needs bus driver must be able to pass a timed proficiency test showing their ability to properly use all the restraints and emergency equipment associated with the transportation of students with special needs. Other items: Driver is not to use bus for assisting other vehicles by pushing, towing, or starting other vehicles. Driver will be responsible for damage if bus is used for the above. Driver is prohibited from using cell phone while operating a school bus. Cell phone may only be used for an emergency to notify transportation.
