    Centennial Sports Arena/Zamboni Driver Date Available: ASAPPOSITION TITLE: Zamboni/Resurfacer Driver REPORTS TO: Sports Arena Manager The position is responsible for resurfacing the ice and general maintenance of the facility. The driver position will be responsible for opening and/or closing of the facility, ice resurfacing, general cleaning and toiletry restocking, supervising the building, refuse disposal, and pro-shop duties including skate sharpening and selling equipment. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: 1) Operate the ice resurfacer to ensure quality ice in a timely manner. 2) Follow the outlined procedures for ice plant mechanical room, locker room assignments, and building maintenance. 3) Operate skate sharpening equipment and cash register for pro-shop. 4) Maintain ice surface to high standards. 5) Maintain a clean facility, perform general outside maintenance such as shoveling snow and salting sidewalks 6) Provide building supervision to support and enforce facility policies, ISD 12 policies, procedures, and safety rules. 7) Be courteous, patient, approachable, and visible for customer questions and concerns. 8) Perform other duties as assigned by Manager. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Valid driver's license 2) 18 years of age or older 3) Ability to work evenings and/or weekends DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Previous experience operating heavy equipment or Olypmia/Zamboni ice resurfacers. 2) Display mechanical aptitude appropriate to the various mechanical systems in an arena operation. WORK ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS: 1) Working Conditions: a) Rink temperature is 55 degrees: jacket/sweatshirt often required b) Wet conditions: refilling the resurfacer may splash water at times, waterproof footwear recommended c) Slippery surfaces: ice cleats must be worn when walking onto ice sheet 2) Physicals Demands: a) Lift or move up to 50 pounds. b) The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, walk, and kneel. c) Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, and peripheral vision. 3) Work Hours and Schedules: a) Work hours are primarily evenings (4:30 PM - 11:30 PM) and weekends. b) Drivers are typically assigned to the same days and shifts each week for consistency and ease of scheduling.
