Responsibilities:
Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.
Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.

Summary:
The IHLS Courier Driver position delivers books, other library materials and equipment to and from member libraries or other designated locations based on a prescribed daily route, while ensuring safe and proper lifting and driving practices. Sorting as well as loading and unloading library materials into the delivery vehicle also may be required.

Working Conditions:

Physical Requirements:
• This position requires extensive periods of sitting while driving up to 400 miles daily. It also requires repetitive use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, reaching, pushing, grasping, hearing, and talking.
• Requires ability to shelve materials up to a height of 6 feet and/or bending to ground-level while sorting items by library code.
• Requires the ability to exert up to 40 pounds of force frequently to life, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move object, including but not limited to books, tubs, or bags of library materials.
• As part of your responsibilities, you will need to transport tubs containing books and other materials weighing up to 40 pounds. This involves moving the tubs approximately 50 feet. On an average day, you'll handle 50 tubs, each of which needs to be loaded and unloaded four separate times at various locations.
• Ability to effectively use a computer and check emails.

Examples of Duties
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the AVP Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs (PI of the grant). Responsible for driving the Mobile Food Laboratory (MFL) to and from education programs for students in the K-12 educational environment at participating schools. The MFL's home base is at the Meadowlands Environment Center (MEC). She/he drives the MFL and facilitates the set- up/take- down for programs for educators and other special programs as required. The MFL is a mobile classroom that only has students and educators on board when it is parked and being used for educational programming; when on the road the only person on board is the driver.
This is a part-time position. The hourly rate is $20/hr. Hours of work and days will be defined by the supervisor.
Qualifications
DUTIES:
Drives the Mobile Food Lab from its home base at the Meadowlands Environment Center (MEC) to participating schools and back to the MEC.
Facilitate the set-up of educational programming for the MFL educators upon arrival at the location of the program.
Facilitate the take-down of educational programming for the MFL educators upon completion of activities at the location of the program.
Responsible for fueling the MFL and the on-board generator.
Consults with supervisor on a regular basis to report problems with the MFL, and to resolve problems.
Establishes liaison and maintains cooperative working relationships with MEC staff whose functions impact on assigned responsibilities. These include MFL educators, Assistant Directors, School District Coordinator and the NJMC.

JOB SUMMARY

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate bus on special trips as scheduled
Perform daily inspections as required and fill gas tank when needed
Promptly report maintenance issues
Assist disabled passengers on and off vehicle, ensuring safe transport
Keep record of passenger numbers and/or logbook as required
Enforce federal, state and University guidelines for bus riders
Perform all other duties assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED
A valid Class B commercial driver's license with a 24 plus passenger endorsement
One yeaR experience operating a shuttle vehicle
Clean driving record and ability to meet federal and state driving standards (including federally required drug testing)
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to interpret maps, directions, and instructions
Able to exercise judgment and operate under time pressure
Must be in physical condition to sit for extended periods of time, bend, reach, climb stairs, and grasp
Must meet DMV vision requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Transport university passengers as dictated by the GPS software, during all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, etc.); during off-season hours, and university holidays. Submit comprehensive written incident reports as assigned. Conduct both vehicle and foot patrols of the campus while on shift. Complete security checks of all assigned university facilities to ensure their integrity and the safety of their contents. * Serve as a security officer for public safety as instructed. Achieve and maintain all campus security requirements and training. Patrol campus areas in designated SafeRide vehicles. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Follow specified routes and transports passengers under limited supervision.
Greet passengers; assists passenger with special needs board and de-board.
Conduct vehicle inspections and reports deficiencies to the Supervisor.
