Job Description
The Data Research Analyst reports to the Director of Academic Advising and is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting student and advising data and information in an accurate and timely manner. This includes but is not limited to preparing data and reports to respond to frequent ad hoc requests for Academic Advising and Student Affairs leadership; providing reports and performance analytics for the Academic Advising department in support of key processes; tracking, analyzing, and recommending interventions for students with metrics indicating a need for advising. The Data Research Analyst will generate reports needed for effective decision-making; mines data from disparate sources to provide a comprehensive informational perspective; identifies patterns and trends that may influence student success.
Required Qualifications

Job Description
The Preschool Program Senior Specialist is responsible for assisting in the administration of the Early Childhood Education Lab Program. The preschool program will consist of at least two early childhood classrooms serving children and may serve children infant through preschool age.
This position reports to the Director of Early Childhood Education and provides expertise in the implementation of the ECE lab program policies in support of the Education Department. This position takes leadership to manage the activities of educators and administrators located at the ECE Lab, ensure childcare licensing compliance, excellence as verified by NAEYC and Nevada's QRIS, and high-quality programming which provides high-quality education for the children of CSN students and staff, as well as members of the community. This person is also responsible to assist the Director in providing a model environment for CSN students to engage in observation and practicum studies.

This position is part of the Laboratory Support Unit in the School of Science, Engineering and Mathematics. The position is located at a main CSN campus (West Charleston, North Las Vegas, or Henderson); however, multi-campus travel may be required. Position requires experience/knowledge and skill in basic physical, chemical, or biological laboratory practices. Position priority tasks are the preparation and breakdown of equipment and supplies for science laboratory classroom instruction. Responsibilities can include working with various equipment, analytical instruments, chemicals and/or biological materials, and the proper handling, storage, and disposal of equipment, various hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals, and biological materials in accordance with appropriate regulations/procedures. In addition, the position requires replenishing, tracking, and maintaining inventory of supplies as well as maintaining clean, safe, and organized laboratory areas. This is an in-person, on-site, position with no remote work component.
Common tasks include, but are not limited to:
* Working in a laboratory environment to prepare laboratory materials and equipment necessary for instructional laboratories or classes taught in the School of Science, Engineering, & Mathematics.
* Potentially handling live and preserved microbe, plant, and animal specimens.
* Preparing media, chemical solutions, and laboratory equipment.
* Using equipment that may include microscopes, electron microscopes, ion chromatography, LIBS, general chemistry laboratory equipment, PCR thermocyclers, electrophoresis and environmental chambers, spectrophotometers, autoclaves, velocimeters, simple electrical circuits, a basic multimeter.
* Replenishing and maintaining an inventory of supplies and keeping inventory records.
* Maintaining clean, safe, organized laboratory areas.
* Properly handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous and non-hazardous materials including biological, chemical and/or electronics waste.
* Occasional travel between CSN main campuses.
* Coordinating with the supervisor, other Staff Research Associates, Academic Faculty, and the Office of Environmental Health and Safety.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a science specialization and one year of professional experience in a research laboratory; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR one year of experience as a Staff Research Associate I in Nevada State service.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree and past professional experience in a bioscience specialization.
Weekly Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm.
Starting Salary
Grade 31, Step 1 - $ 54,434.16.
This position is contingent upon ongoing and continuing funding.

Under Direction of the CSN Accounting Department Chair, successful applicants will support the mission of the Nevada System of Higher Education, and the College of Southern Nevada.

Starting Salary Information
Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, for an instructor with a master's degree, the salary range would be $46,691 to $59,768 annually. The entire salary range is up to $71,123 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years of experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for initial salary placement purposes.
* This position is contingent upon ongoing and available funding.
This position is eligible for relocation assistance contingent upon available funding as defined in the CSN-NFA 2022-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

What our office and the position are responsible for:
First Year Experience (FYE) Peer Leaders support the efforts of all First Year Experience & Student Success Initiatives beginning with FYE Registration/Enrollment events and the FYE Student First Stations at CSN.
Serving as a campus resource, our trained FYE student workers are knowledgeable about the CSN college experience, assist new students in their transition to CSN, and provide continuous engagement and connections with students throughout the first year. They are trained experts in the first-year student journey at CSN, having a broad understanding of the variables that may positively or negatively affect a first-year student's experience. FYE Peer Leaders represent the diversity of the CSN community in experience, interests and ideas. FYE Peer Leaders aid in the student development of personal, social, and academic skills for success, and they report to the Coordinator of Orientation and Director of First Year Experience. Our services benefit CSN students and staff.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Student Guidance
* Welcome new students to CSN.
* Assist new students in navigating CSN and its resources.
Student Engagement
* Participate in the FYE Homeroom portal on CANVAS.
* Interact with CSN students on First Year Experience Department's social media pages.
* Participate in large and small group discussions at First Year Experience Events.
* Support other welcoming initiatives such as Welcome Back days, CSN Connections, and other events as assigned.
Outreach to Students
* Conduct outbound phone calls to new CSN students to provide general assistance and referrals as necessary

Founded in 1971 and situated in the greater Las Vegas metropolitan area, the College of Southern Nevada is the most ethnically diverse college in Nevada and the first to receive the HSI designation. Position Summary:
The Department of Biological Sciences provides quality instruction for courses required by limited-entry programs in Health Sciences, the Associate of Science Degree in Biology, and the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Environmental Conservation. The Department currently has a strong focus on increasing the throughput of students to limited-entry Health Sciences and on growing the BAS in Environmental Conservation.
Under the direction of the Department Chair, successful applicants will support the mission of the Nevada System of Higher Education, the College of Southern Nevada, the School of Science and Mathematics, and the Department of Biological Sciences by:
* Teaching transferable, entry-level lectures and laboratories for BIOL 191 Introduction to Organismal Biology and one or more of the following: NRES 310 Wildlife Ecology & Management, BIOL 432 Herpetology, BIOL 433 Ornithology, and BIOL 434 Mammalogy.
* Applying a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of the student population and the standards of the discipline.
* Developing clear syllabi and effective course materials.
* Evaluating student mastery of skills and competencies required by course learning outcomes.
* Participating in course and program assessment and curricular development.
* Participating in discipline, department, and school meetings and activities
* Serving on department, school, and college-wide committees that focus on unit planning and institutional decision-making.
* Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with students, faculty, and staff of diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
* Teaching on multiple campuses during the day or evening hours.
Required Qualifications
* Master of Science degree in biological science from an accredited College or University.
* One year of experience teaching organismal biology at the college level.
Preferred Qualifications
* Ph.D. in biological science from an accredited College or University.
* At least one year of experience teaching organismal biology at a community college.
* At least one year of experience teaching wildlife ecology & management herpetology, ornithology, or mammalogy at the college level.
* Demonstrated experience with the use of technology in the classroom.
* Demonstrated experience with assessment of course and program student learning outcomes.
* Demonstrated experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
Starting Salary Information
Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, for an instructor with a Master's degree the salary range would be $58,046 to $74,304 annually. The entire salary range is up to $89,166 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years' experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for the initial salary placement purposes.

Bargaining unit Faculty members hired are eligible for relocation expenses reimbursement in accordance with the College of Southern Nevada NFA Contract 2022-2025.
