General Description: Under the general supervision of the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Educational Technologist (ET) serves as the college's primary administrator of the Learning Management System (currently Canvas) and provides instructional technology support to faculty, staff, and students across the institution. This role encompasses technical oversight, collaborative problem-solving, and strategic implementation of educational technologies that enhance multimodal instruction and support student success. The ET works closely with faculty and staff to provide responsive LMS support, instructional media assistance, guidance on adopting and utilizing accessible, effective technology solutions, and learning outcomes analytics support. This role supports training development, cross-listing, term setup, and troubleshooting for Canvas and other integrated tools (such as Zoom, Panopto, etc.). The ET may also provide basic course design resources, directing faculty to evidence-based teaching strategies and UDL principles. Essential Functions: * Administer the college's LMS (currently Canvas), including term setup, course creation, cross-listing and merging, enrollment accuracy, and third-party tool integrations * Co-administer the institution's digital assessment platform (currently Insights for Canvas Outcomes), including user roles and permissions management, configuration and optimization for Canvas, and troubleshooting issues related to outcomes and assessment functionality * Provide technical assistance to faculty and staff in the use of instructional technologies, both in real time and through a ticketing system * Partner with faculty to match instructional needs with appropriate technologies, emphasizing evidence-based practices and digital accessibility * Support the implementation and evaluation of emerging educational tools, such as AI-assisted teaching supports, media platforms, and analytics dashboards * Provide training and resource development (videos, guides, Canvas modules) to assist instructors with integrating technology into online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses * Assist with troubleshooting LMS-related issues, including sync errors, code verification, user roles, and data inconsistencies * Provide light instructional design support such as aligning course objectives with assessments, rubrics, and basic course structure * Support media creation and accessibility compliance, including captioning, file formatting, and Universal Design for Learning principles * Coordinate communication with faculty regarding LMS policy compliance (e.g., publishing deadlines, incomplete setup) * Serve as a technical lead in resolving LMS and tool-related support escalations in coordination with Tech Services and vendors * Assist with circulation, maintenance, or setup of classroom media and instructional tech tools when needed * Collaborate with other Center for Teaching and Learning staff to build faculty capacity through onboarding, workshops, and targeted support * Liaise with academic departments, deans, state-level LMS groups, and vendor representatives * Participate in quarterly institutional planning, assessment, and faculty professional development initiatives as needed * Other duties as assigned * Strong working knowledge of Canvas or another major LMS (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, D2L); Canvas preferred * Skill in instructional technology support, including troubleshooting, explaining tools clearly, and documenting workflows * Ability to build productive partnerships with faculty around technology use and course development * Ability to evaluate and advise on new technologies, tools, or LMS features * Ability to interpret and apply accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to support faculty in creating inclusive instructional environments * Excellent written and oral communication skills, including those necessary to develop help documentation and training materials * Comfort with audio/video tools, screen capture software, and instructional multimedia workflows * Familiarity with support ticket systems (e.g., TeamDynamix) and support request triaging * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment * Cultural competence and ability to work effectively with diverse populations and adult learners * Commitment to continuous improvement and inclusive teaching and learning Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities * May supervise student workers or interns Required Qualifications: Any combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the applicant with the knowledge and skills to perform the job may be considered by the college. * Bachelor's degree in education, educational technology, instructional technology, instructional design, or a related field; * Two years of experience using or supporting a major LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.) as a trainer, designer, or administrator Preferred Qualifications: * Canvas LMS experience * Experience working in higher education or adult learning environments * Experience supporting instructional media, captioning, or accessible content development * Experience with development, collection, and analysis of learning analytics * Bilingual English/Spanish * Helpdesk or technical support experience in an educational setting You don't check every qualification listed? RESPONSIBILITIES Provide peer counseling and support, drawing on common experiences as a peer, validate clients' experiences and to provide guidance and encouragement to client to take responsibility and actively participate in their own recovery; serve as a mentor to clients to promote hope and empowerment. Ensure accurate, timely and complete documentation of all clinical documents and subsequent data entry when required. Help clients and family members identify, understand, and combat stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness and develop strategies to reduce self -stigma. Increase awareness of and support client and family participation in consumer self-help services and programs. Assist the supervisor to help organize and lead rehabilitative individual and group activities. When requested, participate in clinical meetings to discuss client progress and goals. Participate as requested in clinical supervision. Provide support to clients who are in crisis by spending time with them in their home or while at an emergency room or office setting. Provide peer support services, working in tandem with clinicians, until the crisis is resolved or alternative placement options are secure. Provide transportation to clients when clinically recommended to assist client in access to services. Please Note: The expected shifts for this position is 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. * This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L. Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules. Updated as of July 1, 2025: This position is eligible for "Supplement Basic Shift Premium" for 24/7 Facilities. Employees who are assigned to a facility that provides direct care to residents, patients, and/or clients and whose duties are required to be performed on location will receive an additional one dollar ($1.00) per hour of supplemental basic shift premium for each hour of basic shift premium. This shift premium does not apply to overtime hours. The supplemental basic shift premium shall expire on June 29, 2027. These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to Veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star Families. As a Nursing Assistant Certified, you will assist in the delivery of nursing and nursing-related care to vulnerable Veterans in need of skilled nursing care in a homelike setting. Your role is vital to maximizing the quality of life for our residents by assisting with daily living activities. Some of what you'll do: * Actively participate in the resident's care plan. * Create and maintain meaningful, professional relationships with residents and their families. * Support and encourage the resident's involvement in decisionmaking. * Assist with therapies and treatment under the direction of a licensed RN. * Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating and monitoring/feeding of meals and nourishments, depending on the specific needs and requirements of each resident. * Accurately obtain and record vital signs and other resident data; document residents' intake and output records; encourage liquids and collection of specimens for lab use. * Perform basic nursing procedures such as applying anti-embolism stockings, applying creams or lotion to intact skin, etc. * Reposition residents and access supplies as needed. * Use hoyer lift, oxygen tanks, scoop stretcher, or special equipment as needed. * Maintain clean and sanitary spaces in the household including residents' rooms and common spaces. * Lead therapeutic recreational activities. * And more! Required: * Valid Washington state license to practice as a nursing assistant certified. * Active status on Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) Registry. * Must be proficient in the English language and be able to read, write and speak English. Preferred/Desired: * Valid driver's license. Special Requirements: * Must be able to pass a DSHS BCCU Background Check prior to beginning services and every two (2) years in accordance with WDVA Policy 615.000 Background Checks. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position. * Must comply with annual Tuberculin Screening in accordance with DVA policy 670.000 Tuberculosis Testing. * Requires medical evaluation, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection as required by the Washington Industrial Safety and Act standards. Must be able to wear a respirator, medical gloves, gowns, eye protection, and other personal protection as required by a job or task. * Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. and be capable of reaching a minimum of 36" using proper technique to stock shelves and access supplies. Employee must also be able to push or pull with sufficient strength and walk, sit, and bend in an unrestricted manner during the entire workday. * Must maintain a valid NAC license from the State of Washington Department of Health. * Must remain current on the OBRA Registry. * Must maintain regular and reliable attendance. * Must successfully complete, within mandated timeframes, employee orientation and all other mandatory annual, in-service, and other required training. * Must sign the confidentiality statement for all employees. * Positions requiring travel must have a valid unrestricted driver's license and must be insured if driving a privately owned vehicle on state business. * Candidates who are offered a job with WDVA must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa now or in the future.
