The primary role of the affiliate faculty is teaching which focuses on instruction, assessment of student learning outcomes, and program evaluation. Most courses are offered in an accelerated format with synchronous and asynchronous components. Core courses are taught using blended formats designed for adult learners. The Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is a year-round program.
This is not a full time position.
An Affiliate Faculty position (often called Adjunct Faculty in higher education) with CCU can be for either our College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS) or College of Undergraduate Studies (CUS).
This is an opening for CAGS, which typically offers classes in an online environment using our Learning Management System (Brightspace). Some CAGS classes are in-seat at a center in the state of Colorado; however, the trend in most programs is for the majority of students to attend online. Most classes meet for five weeks, however some classes are offered in 7, 9, and 10 week formats.
Upon submitting a resume and application, those candidates who are selected for the next steps are offered the opportunity to complete a one-way video interview. This video interview is reviewed by the Human Resources department and then sent to the appropriate dean for further review. Each dean has a review and selection process, which may include in-person interviews or evaluations. All candidates will be notified of the outcome of the hiring process.
Those who are selected join the CAGS Affiliate Faculty pool and are vetted to teach courses based on their qualifications and relevant experience. Offers for courses are determined based on student enrollment and on how many other faculty are in their respective area of expertise.
Affiliates are expected to learn about CCU and its policies through the University's Faculty Development team where each Affiliate Faculty member is asked to complete a series of badges to show they have completed the training required to teach at CCU. Affiliates must complete the required badge training to remain in the teaching pool.
All affiliates are paid on a per-class contract basis and are classified as affiliate employees of CCU; affiliates are not considered regular part-time employees. This does afford each affiliate the option to participate in the 403(b) plan, but affiliate faculty are not eligible for any matching contribution and are not eligible for other CCU benefits.

A doctorate degree in a counseling related field required.
3-5 years of successful higher education teaching experience preferred.
Appropriate certification and/or licensure may be required to teach some courses.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. Affiliate Faculty pay is typically $400-$600 per credit hour for undergraduate classes and $1,000 per credit hour for graduate level classes. Details regarding payment for low-enrolled courses are included in course contracts.

Position Summary
The Alternative Licensure Program at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. The ALP Coach will support alternative licensure candidates in their teaching assignments. This is a temporary coaching position that serves students in the fall and spring semesters. Applicants need to be available 5 days per week during the day for lesson observations, debriefs, and meetings with alternative licensure teachers. The successful applicant will coach candidates in accordance with Teacher Quality Standards and assist each candidate in becoming an effective teacher in a variety of settings.

* Assist alternative licensure candidates in meeting the requirements of the Colorado Teacher Quality Standards
* Conduct a minimum of 5 school visits for each assigned alternative licensure candidate during each semester

* Evaluate alternative licensure candidate's proficiency on Colorado Teacher Qualities Standards
* Communicate with Alternative Licensure Instructor regarding candidate's performance
* Attend all required Alternative Licensure Program (ALP) meetings
Necessary Special Requirement: This position requires travel to and from teaching sites throughout the week. The final candidate must be able to perform this essential function of the job with or without accommodation.
An affiliate faculty member's duties may include but are not limited to: teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading student work, providing students with robust feedback in a timely manner, addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies, and providing online or in person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment; providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if required, with department course coordination policies; and complying with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies. Required Qualifications

Terms of Employment
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University's benefit program. All such teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment.
Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.

About the Department
The Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences department prioritizes values that reflect those of the university at large including a shared commitment to community, accessibility, diversity, respect and excellence (cadre). We are a collaborative team that includes four full-time faculty, three full-time clinical educators, and a talented group of professional staff and part-time affiliates. We offer both an undergraduate degree in speech, language, hearing sciences and a graduate degree in speech-language pathology, with an optional concentration in bilingual (Spanish-English) service provision. The Bookhardt Family Speech-Language Clinic is a no-cost, on-campus clinic that supports the greater Denver-metro community.
Our department strives to improve how knowledge is translated from the classroom to the clinic by breaking down traditional educational silos. Position Summary
The Department of Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences (SLHS) and the Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology (MS-SLP) program of MSU Denver seeks speech-language pathologists (SLPs) to be part-time clinical educators. Clinical Educators will review lesson plans and clinical documentation and provide timely feedback to graduate student clinicians. Clinical Educators must be committed to graduate clinical education and current professional practices and demonstrate ability to quickly learn and use several different technology platforms including Canvas, ClinicNote, VALT and Calipso.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in speech-language pathology
Certification from American Speech, Language, Hearing Association (ASHA)
Have completed a minimum of nine months of practice experience post-certification
and
meet ASHA's 2020 Standards for supervision, including the self-attestation on the ASHA website
Preferred Qualifications
At least two years of experience mentoring graduate students and/or novice speech language pathologists

Responsibilities
Teach 3 - 9 credit hours of business law
Will work and interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff
An affiliate faculty member's duties may include but are not limited to: teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading student work, providing students with robust feedback in a timely manner, addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies, and providing online or in person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment; providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if required, with department course coordination policies; and complying with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies. The Family Literacy Program at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. The Family Literacy Program has an opening for a part-time Lead ESL instructor to prepare and deliver lessons to adults (up to 19 hours per week). Lead instructors are enthusiastic and flexible and attend professional development workshops and departmental meetings. The position is semester-based and includes classroom instruction and planning time.

Responsibilities
* Provide direct classroom instruction for adults using appropriate ESL curriculum, teaching methods and materials
* Teach classes at off-site locations in the greater metro area.
* Foster encouraging and supportive learning environment for students by responding to instructional needs and concerns.
* Employ student-centric methodologies and approaches and multiple teaching styles
* Demonstrate curriculum methods and materials to volunteer tutors or teaching aides as needed
* Work with Family Literacy staff in planning parent enrichment and intergenerational learning activities with families
* Positively represent the University to community partners and while onsite partner-owned teaching locations
* Instructors will be expected to pack up and move classroom space as part of their responsibilities.
* Facilitate registration, orientation, and technology sessions and help administer standardized assessments
* Attend workshops, trainings and in-services as requested by leadership team
* Perform record keeping and reporting (data input) responsibilities
* Work closely with other lead teaching staff regarding curriculum, materials, student goals, testing, and evaluation to ensure program goals are being met
* Outreach to students as part of the program's retention strategy
* Inform students of and uphold school policies
* Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in education or related field. If the degree is not in a related field, then a certificate in TESOL (e.g. CELTA or equivalent) is required
* Current CDE Adult Basic Education Authorization (ABEA) or receipt of certification within two years (Current ABEA Certification preferred)
* Two to three years' minimum experience with adult learners
* Knowledge and practice of current ESL and adult education theory
* Ability to create presentations
* Ability to work under pressure and maintain standards of quality service
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in ESL or related field
* Fluency in a language other than English (Spanish preferred) or intermediate skills with experience of long-term language study
* Experience with standard educational assessment tools (CASAS & Best Plus)
* Proven ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of immigrant, low income, marginalized, and diverse urban populations

Required Qualifications
Completion of a Master's degree in the field in which the faculty member is assigned to teach.
Professional experience that is current at the time of hire, that has been substantial in terms of duration and level of responsibility, and that clearly links to the field in which the faculty member is expected to teach. Normally, this experience is no less than ten consecutive years with increasing levels of responsibility and supervisory experience.
To teach graduate classes, normally the professional work experience is no less than twenty consecutive years and has resulted in accomplishing increased levels of responsibility, with senior-level administrative responsibilities.
If the Master's degree is outside the field in which the faculty member is assigned to teach, there is an increased expectation for substantial professional work experience in the discipline.

The Assistant to the Program Director provides administrative coordination and support for Allied Health programs across CMU Tech campuses. The Department of Philosophy's mission is to provide our students, ourselves, and our community with opportunities to join in ongoing conversations about the nature and meaning of human existence in a rigorous, critical, and open-ended manner. Position Summary
Instructors will teach one to three classes per semester. We have particular needs for qualified instructors to teach RLG 1040 - Asian Religions, RLG 1050 - Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and RLG 1090 - Religion, Justice, and Liberation Movements. There are opportunities to teach both in person and online.

Responsibilities
Teach 3 - 9 credit hours in the area of Religious Studies; teaching may be in-person, remote, or hybrid.
An affiliate faculty member's duties may include but are not limited to: teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading student work, providing students with robust feedback in a timely manner, addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies, and providing online or in person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment; providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if required, with department course coordination policies; and complying with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies. The ability to adapt and learn new modes of instruction is highly encouraged. Candidates need to be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
