Columbia Energy & Environmental Services was founded in May 1989 by Dennis Brendel.
In 1992, Columbia Energy acquired their first significant Hanford contract helping the company begin their expansion.
By hiring key engineering personnel, Columbia Energy was able to acquire its first BMA contract through CH2M Hill in 2002.
In 2007, Columbia Energy decided to add fabrication services to its list of capabilities.
In 2009, Columbia Energy acquired a fabrication and machining facility, 40,000 square feet of space that includes a 40-foot high bay that was retrofitted with 5-ton and 25-ton overhead lifts.
