Middle School Social Studies Leave Replacement Teacher
Teachers hold primary responsibility for the implementation and development of the CGPS curriculum and the success of its students. The Middle School Social Studies (Leave Replacement) Teacher is committed to providing quality instruction in this subject area through collaboration with a grade-level departmental team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements curricula and activities to meet academic standards
Implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards and uses the assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
Participates in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions
Manages a safe and predictable classroom environment
Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues
Provides a multitude of cultural lenses for instruction
In accordance with Middle School responsibilities, other duties as assigned by the Middle School Director, including but not limited to lunch duty, recess duty or study halls
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree Required; Master's degree preferred and NYS Teaching Certification is helpful but not required
Mastery of and enthusiasm for History;
Drive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of the classroom;
Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom;
Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player;

COMPENSATION

CGPS is seeking an experienced technical director (TD) for our February 2026 production of Alice in Wonderland Jr and May 2026 production of Annie, Kids. The TD will be responsible for basic lighting and sound design (performers will not be mic'd) in the school's black box theater, as well as operating light and sound boards during the performances. The ideal candidate will have professional training and experience designing lights and sound for live theater. Excitement about working with middle schoolers and/or lower school students is essential.
For each production, TD will need to be present on site during rehearsals and performances for the three weeks indicated below. 2-3 Production meetings for each show will be scheduled over Zoom between November and January.

The High School Director leads both the educational vision and agenda and the daily operations of the division. The role reports to the Head of School and sits on the school's exceptional senior leadership team. The three division directors-High School, Middle School and First Program-form a close-knit, collaborative “team within a team.” The relationship with the Middle School Director is particularly important, as the two leaders ensure smooth transitions for students, align curriculum, share a significant number of cross-divisional faculty and more. The Director leads the High School administrative team, faculty and staff. This person plays a key role in admissions for the division, representing the division in public events and sitting on the admissions committee. The Physical Education Teacher will report to the Physical Education Department Chair and the Director of Athletics and Physical Education.
Responsibilities:
Teach multiple sections of physical education for students in grades 3 through 12.
Plan, implement, and revise physical education curriculum as needed.
Maintain clear communication with colleagues, students, and parents.
Coach middle school and high school teams across three seasons.
Demonstrate the ability to coach at least one varsity-level sport.
Fulfill additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in physical education or a related field is preferred.

Flexibility in scheduling to meet coaching and teaching responsibilities.
