As a Retail Supervisor, you will be a member of the Store Leadership Team and responsible for providing leadership and direction to diverse associate-level team members in an assigned area of responsibility. The Retail Supervisor fosters a positive environment and displays a high professional standard of individual behavior, leading by example while demonstrating Columbia Sportswear Company values.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Oversees the day-to-day work of associate level staff.
Provide direction and guidance, training, and coaching to associate-level team members to ensure efficient and effective operations and proper store procedures to support the overall customer experience in-store.
Supervise assigned department of responsibility, overseeing the profitability of the store by receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing.
Create and maintain store culture through teamwork and coaching, displaying a high professional standard of individual behavior and leading by example.
Collaborate with the store leadership team concerning policies, procedures, and standards for assigned areas of responsibility.
Maintain company standards and policies; ensure that employees adhere to procedures and quality standards, working to resolve any problems or errors.
YOU HAVE
No specific education required (High School Diploma or GED preferred)
2-5 years of experience in position or specialization
Skill operating a Point of Sales (POS) system, other in-store computerized systems, and telephone.
Effective communication skills; able to exchange ideas and information with the store leadership team, associates, and consumers.
JOB CONDITIONS
Frequently in an active environment (i.e., requires the ability to constantly move about) that can be physical or strenuous (frequently adjusting/moving items weighing up to 40 lbs.), may frequently use specialized equipment, may have exposure to dust and noise.
Occasionally requires the ability to work in a place.
Ability to communicate clearly with others.
Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts. All local, state, and federal laws are adhered to when evaluating your availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Be empowered to meet the customer where they are and personalize their experience:
* Elevate in-store experience by modeling Customer Experience Leader (CEL) behaviors and coaching associate behaviors to achieve store goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Responsible for responding to customer and associate requests or feedback with a high sense of urgency.
* Ensures customers have a positive experience by maintaining DSW store standards. Completes all tasks related to daily open/close including store cleaning, recovery and maintenance standards.
* Partner with StoreManager to create long-term strategic plans. Review and communicate action plan with the leadership team to ensure all tasks are completed throughout the day/week/month.
Be committed to the customer having a consistent positive experience:
* Improve metric-based goals by reviewing, understanding and clearly communicating daily/weekly/monthly progress. Able to communicate business trends to StoreManager/Market Leader.
* Increase sales by leveraging inventory reports to maximize productivity and merchandise presentations on the sales floor.
* Oversees processes related to audits, donations, transfers, mismates, damages, etc.
* Work closely with the StoreManager to understand and ensure that all policy and procedures are followed.

Operations Management: Oversee store systems, including scheduling, opening/closing procedures, and operational processes. Support peak store operations by occasionally lifting and moving boxes (up to 50 lbs.)
Sales Management: Drive revenue growth by implementing performance strategies, setting expectations, and exceeding sales goals.
Problem-Solving: Proactively address operational challenges and resolve customer concerns to maintain satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Be empowered to meet the customer where they are and personalize their experience:
* Maintain in-store experience by modeling Customer Experience Leader (CEL) behaviors and redirecting associate behaviors to achieve store goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Responsible for responding to customer and associate requests or feedback with a high sense of urgency.
* Ensures customers have a positive experience by maintaining DSW store standards. Completes all tasks related to daily open/close including store cleaning, recovery and maintenance standards.
