The primary responsibility of the Resident Assistant position is to meet the daily personal care needs of residents with professionalism, dignity and respect following the current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern assisted living communities. You are entrusted to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Resident Care Duties
:
Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, bathing and dressing, as requested by residents or directed by supervisor.
Attends to the personal care needs of residents in a timely manner.
Regularly review, follow, and adhere to residents' service plans.
Document and report care provided and resident observations.
Perform vital signs and heights and weights.
Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner.
Monitors the safety and well-being of residents.
Reports changes in resident status, health or otherwise to supervisor.
Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and universal precautions.
Provide information, encourage, and participate with residents in activity focused programs.
May be asked to provide assistance to residents in Assisted Living and/or Memory Care.
Relationship Duties:
Deal tactfully when personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Demonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and visitors.
Relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the community.
Department Duties

Attends, participates and contributes to monthly staff meetings addressing resident, departmental and community needs.
Responsible for cleaning common areas, occupied and vacant apartments, and perform laundry services in accordance with Community policies and procedures.

6-months experience in a senior living community (preferred)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Adult Basic First Aid and CPR Certification (preferred).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must be able to push, pull, move, and /or lift a minimum of 25# to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Moves intermittently during working hours.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.
Works beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., through out the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

What will I do every day?
Monitor residents' well-being in a general way and report any changes in condition to the appropriate associate/department immediately
Assist residents with simple requests as needed or find appropriate associate to assist
Learn resident preferences for opportunities to provide exemplary customer service, exceed resident expectations and enhance resident satisfaction
Supervise or assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, ambulation and other activities of daily living
Provide companionship and develop strong resident relations
Respond to emergencies according to policies and procedures
Help residents with assistive devices (walkers, wheelchairs, hearing aids, etc.)
Encourage self-care of residents
Document care provided to residents consistent with documentation standards
Provide input to the Care Services Director and/or the Resident Care Coordinator/Dementia
Care Coordinator to assure that resident individual service plans are current
Review24 Hour Report and care check lists regularly
Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy
Practice standard precautions, infection control, and safe work practices
Observe and monitor residents to provide or assist with documentation regarding resident status
Cover the Customer Service desk in the Care Services lobby, if necessary
Answer telephone according to company policy and standards
Support, lead and participate in resident-centered wellness programs
Resolve resident questions according to set policies and procedures
Greet and direct family members, potential residents, prospects and other individuals to the appropriate staff contacts in the community
Assist and participate in community special events and marketing events
Assist residents in meeting their social needs through interaction with staff, family and other residents including encouraging and reminding residents of wellness programming
Assist in the general upkeep of the community common areas
Maintain upkeep of residents' rooms (e.g., making bed, taking out trash, washing dishes)
Assist with resident laundry as assigned
Support open and honest communication with and between all associates
Work as part of the team within your department and across the community
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working
Look for ways to reduce costs and create efficiencies on a daily basis
Ensure regulatory compliance and report any issues or concerns immediately to supervisor

Adhere to all regulations, laws and company standards, including the Associate Handbook

• Maintain the flow of the Cycle of Service in accordance with position. Provide Client
Education regarding preventive care, Optimum Wellness Plans, and basic status of
hospitalized pets. Serve as support to the Client Services Coordinator staff on an as-needed
basis.
• Hold or restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
• Prepare routine in-house laboratory tests (e.g. canine heartworm, feline leukemia, FIV, and
canine parvovirus) as allowed by state rules and regulations.
• Monitor the comfort of hospitalized patients. Ensure the comfort of hospitalized patients by
"walking", exercising, feeding, and cleaning cages and pet (when approved by the
veterinarian or veterinary technician).
• Bathe and dip pets when necessary to treat dermatological conditions (when advised by
veterinarian or veterinary technician.
• Clean the surgical suite and instruments.
• Ensure cleanliness of the hospital including but not limited to housekeeping such as laundry,

Position Purpose
This position will provide primary receptionist and administrative support at the RMHS/Homes for All Veterans (HAV) Colorado Springs office. Receptionist duties include greeting and engaging with clients and community partners, providing clients with resources and program materials, screening walk-ins for program eligibility, distributing faxes, scheduling of conference/meeting rooms, and preparing the conference room for larger meetings (to include coffee set-up, developing sign-in sheets, signage, etc.). This position will also assist eligibility staff with screenings and applications for walk-in and appointments. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a neat and clean lobby area, document printing, stocking supplies, and providing general support for the program.
Essential Duties
Delivers high level, positive and welcoming customer service and represents the organization in a professional manner.
Develop and maintain working knowledge of program guidelines for the Homes for All Veterans - Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. Ensure program guidelines are met when providing eligibility and enrollment services to Veteran clients.
Answers phone calls and responds to email messages.
Orders and tracks bus basses per HAV standards and processes.
Maintains credit card check-out process per HAV standards and processes.
Assists customers with general application screening and resource support.
Ensure application materials are completed, per program guidelines, and provide a detailed documentation note on paperwork received and pending, per guidance from Eligibility Specialist.
Develop and maintain working knowledge of governmental and community programs and services.
Maintains the front desk and lobby area in a neat and organized manner. This includes wiping down hard surfaces, checking the meeting rooms and break room.
Coordinating eligibility paperwork for completeness, accuracy and signatures.
Ensures applications and other needed paperwork is accurate/up to date and printed, as needed. Ensures additional application materials are properly dated and a documentation note is added indicating if other items are still pending.

Job Summary
Provides care and services such as medication administration, healthcare services, activities of daily living assistance and other duties, as assigned, in a caring, safe and efficient manner and is responsible to perform according to location standards and procedures. Assists residents with self-administration of medications. May administer medications with proper training. Assists residents in maintaining proper and clean appearance. Assists residents with bathing and maintaining cleanliness of all body areas. Helps residents with toileting needs. Helps residents with dressing and undressing and maintaining proper clothing. Assists residents in transferring, repositioning and walking. Obtain vital signs accurately and reports changes in resident health status. Adheres to OSHA and CDC guidelines to minimize infections by following aseptic cleaning techniques, including those that apply to blood borne pathogens. Demonstrates safe and proper techniques for chemical use, and follows SDS guidelines for any exposure.
Assists with preparing and serving nutritious, appealing meals and snacks to residents following orders, standards and regulations. Folds, hangs and distributes clean linens and personal clothing. Prepares and launders soiled linen / clothing. Cleans residents' rooms and bathrooms, work areas and other public areas. Takes part in community involvement in location and works with volunteers.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. High School Diploma or GED may be required based on working state.
If working at a facility in which a lift is utilized to move residents, must meet the minimum state age requirement.
Must complete and maintain assigned medication administration training program and competencies per state guidelines.

Position Summary
Responsible for organizing, directing and implementing resident care in accordance with the Company standards and as required by State and Federal regulations.
