Comcast Government Affairs is a part of Comcast, located in Washington, DC. We serve as the company's lobbying and advocacy arm, representing Comcast before the House and Senate Congressional Members, as well as the Administration.
This group serves as the eyes and ears of the company in Washington, monitoring how new laws and regulations may impact the business and working to shape those outcomes. The intern will be part of this team.
In addition to the Lobby Team, the Washington, DC office includes the Regulatory Team, which advocates for the company before the FCC-the federal agency that oversees telecommunications, including video and broadband.
Other key teams in the office include the DC Policy Team, the Communications Team, the NBC Government Affairs Team, and the NBC Regulatory Team. These groups collaborate closely every day to guide the company's engagement with policymakers. **Role** **Description**
The intern will work with the Federal Government Affairs team. There are nine lobbyists on the team. The intern will be part of meetings and discussions with the team. The team is a broad mix of former Senate and House staffers and association lobbyists. They all work well together and collaborate on a daily basis.
The intern will learn that actions lawmakers take in Congress affect all citizens. They will learn how a Fortune 50 company interacts with policy makers and law makers and what the Federal Government Affairs team does to influence the policy coming out of the Congress and the Administration.
