About GVETS GVETS provides emergency and urgent veterinary care 365 days a year, including nights, weekends, and all major holidays. Our hospital features modern, high-tech diagnostic and treatment equipment, a collaborative team culture, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient and client care. What Youll Do Emergency & Critical Care: Perform triage and initial assessments on incoming emergency cases Assist veterinarians with emergency examinations, diagnostics, and treatments Provide hands-on nursing care for critical patients, including IV catheter placement, medication administration, and lab work Assist with anesthesia, diagnostic imaging, surgical procedures, and CPR/emergency resuscitation Monitor patients vital signs, pain levels, and response to therapy Technical Skills: Place and maintain IV catheters, perform venipuncture, and collect lab samples Operate diagnostic equipment (radiology, ultrasound, laboratory analyzers) Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Perform CPR and emergency resuscitation when required Client Communication & Support: Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding patient status and treatments Provide emotional support during emergencies and critical care situations Educate clients on discharge instructions, medication administration, and follow-up care Hospital Operations: Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment, ICU, and surgical areas Ensure all equipment and supplies are stocked and in working order Adhere to hospital safety, sanitation, and infection-control protocols Accurately document patient records, treatments, and progress notes What Were Looking For Experienced Veterinary Assistants are welcome Licensed/Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVT, RVT, LVT) preferred Previous experience in emergency or critical care strongly preferred Ability to thrive in a high-energy, team-oriented environment Excellent communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills Willingness and desire to work part-time nights, weekends, and holidays Strong technical skills in emergency and critical care medicine are desirable Why Join Us / What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Be part of a dedicated, supportive, and amazing emergency veterinary team Meaningful, rewarding work supporting pets and their families Get in on the ground floor of a new hospital and shape its future Plenty of room to grow and advance your career as the hospital expands Training and growth opportunities in the veterinary field Fun, fast-paced working environment Daily interaction with pets in need If you are passionate about emergency medicine and want to make a difference while being part of an amazing team with room to grow, wed love to hear from you!
