WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The role of the Underwriter III is to evaluate the credit risk against company standards and to determine the borrower's ability to repay a residential mortgage. The Underwriter III is also responsible for LLCs along with other complex borrower types. JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Commercial Loan Closing Coordinator is responsible for generating accurate loan documentation and the coordination of all aspects of commercial loan closings to ensure compliance with regulations and bank policies. Primary:
Prepares all loan documentation required based upon a loan approval document that has the approving signatures per loan policy.
Ensures loan documentation (internally or attorney prepared) is complete and conforms to all terms and conditions of the loan approval, meets regulatory requirements, ensures collateral perfection and satisfies all closing requirements prior to funding. This may include new money, renewals, extensions, and modifications of multiple commercial loan types.

About the Job:
Independent Bank is on the lookout for a diligent Commercial Loan Credit Analyst to join our thriving team. Reporting to the VP/FVP Commercial Credit Officer, your primary role will be to perform comprehensive commercial loan credit analysis. You'll prepare detailed credit analyses and loan proposals, spread financial statements, and conduct thorough credit reviews. Your keen analytical skills will help determine cash flow, debt service ability, balance sheet strength, and collateral coverage. You'll review loan structures, assign credit risk ratings, and join officers on customer calls. Additionally, you'll assist in compiling monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

What You Will Do:
* Spreading financial statements for borrowers, co-borrowers, guarantors, and others as requested;
* Performing and reviewing credit inquiries;
* Using independent judgment to analyze financial information in order to determine:
* Sufficiency of cash flow;
* Debt service ability;
* Collateral adequacy; and
* Borrower risk rating.
* Reviewing/recommending loan structures consistent with bank policies and guidelines;
* Preparing credit analysis and loan proposals that assist in the prudent granting of credit;
* Performing trend analysis on financial reports of borrowers to evaluate their ongoing credit-worthiness;
* Accompanying lenders on customer contact calls;
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent years of working experience.
* 2+ years commercial credit analyst experience preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
* Must be conversant with (at least) intermediate level accounting (cash/accrual basis, cost, and contractor), lending experience helpful.
