What Does A Commercial Credit Analyst Do At Washington Federal

* The primary responsibility of the Credit Analyst is to analyze, structure and present credit submissions for commercial businesses that are currently bank prospects or current bank clients.
* Responsible for supporting the end-to-end credit management process for the Commercial Real Estate division and Business Banking division and acts independently and as a liaison while partnering with Bank Business Development Officers (BDO), Bank Relationship Managers (RM) and Senior Credit Officers.
* Acts as a liaison between clients and prospects, and other internal and external business partners.
* Facilitates initial review of client credit originations, approvals, legal documentation, and timely collection of client financial information.
* Responsibilities also include monitoring credit compliance, collateral, ensuring credit quality via review of timely financial statements, and data integrity.
* The size of the businesses that are typically reviewed from a credit perspective are those with middle market sales revenues from $5MM to $500MM.
* Credit products typically include commercial real estate term loans, revolving lines of credit, equipment loans/leases, and other credit products applicable to middle market prospects and clients.
* Credit requests in the middle market segment typically range in size from $1MM to $25MM

What Does A Commercial Credit Analyst Do At U.S. Bank

* Performs periodic financial review of assigned complex business customers, to include calculation of Elavon’s processing risk and evaluation of financial condition against credit standards, and makes recommendations regarding the results of said evaluations;
* Completes financial reviews that involve a complete credit and risk analysis, including gathering, analyzing, and interpreting all types of credit and risk information on existing customers;
* Underwrites new business prospects to determine the suitability for the portfolio and determines that the appropriate credit and risk recommendations are made;
* Performs daily approval of payments to customers where risk of loss is elevated;
* Completes extensive internal and external reporting, to include customer risk ratings and exposures, status of letters of credit and other collateral, and compliance of customers with respect to contractual obligations or covenants;
* Works with internal and external auditors to ensure the highest level of compliance with underwriting policies and procedures;
* Participates in quarterly compliance reviews and yearly audits; and
* Interacts with internal and external customers regularly related to various customer issues

* Independently interact with and service on a daily basis a specific portfolio of existing bank business clients, including attendance at customer meetings outside the office.
* Independently analyze and measure bank’s risk through regular financial assessment of existing business customers, including presenting individual analyses at internal bank meetings held to assess business customers’ financial conditions.
* Manage assigned authority, through the daily exercise of discretion and independent judgment, for loan approval for existing business customers, including assessment of credit approval, collateral decisions and loan structure, as well as authorizing and approving wire transfers and customer account overdrafts.

* Superior credit/lending and transactional knowledge as well as analytical abilities with little or no guidance required from immediate manager;

* Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers and with various levels of management;
