The schedule for this position is 14 days on at the mine site located about 45-miles north of Juneau, accessible only through company transportation, and 14 days off. Responsibilities: Safely operate 20-ton and larger mine haul truck from underground to surface. Perform a thorough walk-around inspection at the beginning and end of each shift. Safely and effectively haul and dump material in designated areas. Remove garbage and keep the cab of the trucks clean. Ensure the truck receives fuel as required and at the end of each shift. Follow all safety, environmental, company, and state/federal requirements. Willing to stop work for safety concerns, and abide by safety best practices, policies and procedures. Assist in general mine labor as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications & Skills: Ability to work safely and promote safe behavior in others. High school diploma or equivalent. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset - being respectful, reliable, and easy to work with is just as important as technical skills. A CDL Driver will drive guests in buses on a series of trips which travel around to local attractions, visit outdoor recreation sites, stop at museums and take scenic drives as far as across the Canadian border. Most tours are staffed with a Spieler guide who escorts the guests through the entire tour, narrates during the drives, and is responsible for overall guest experience. A CDL driver is expected to help with some of the logistical aspects of the tour such as taking and counting tickets, helping to set up and take down the lunches, escorting guests to the restrooms, etc. FEDERAL MOTOR CARRIER SAFETY ADMINISTRATION COMPLIANCE Alaska Mountain Guides Adventures, Inc. (AMGA) and its sister companies comply with all applicable federal laws regarding CDL drivers and CDL operations. FMCSA regulations and AMGAs own policies and procedures ensure that our guests will receive the highest quality tours possible in terms of bus transportation safety.
