This is a 1st shift position. The Maintenance Utility Operator is responsible for performing the necessary tasks to support various tasks required to maintain plant equipment and the facility. The Maintenance Utility Operator will perform basic tasks which include but not limited to activities such as C-frame changeovers, minor weld repair, tip changes, building chutes / trays, and equipment cleaning / upkeep. The Maintenance Utility Operator will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: General description of essential functions identified below: • Operates Hilo, aerial/scissor lift and die cart. • Performs minor fab work. • Performs minor press & welder PM's. • Assists with tip changes, and C-frame changeovers. • Equipment cleaning / upkeep • PM and cleaning of nut feeders. • Capable of learning and utilizing Maximo system for data entry and PM tracking. • Adheres to all safety guidelines and monitors tool room for potential safety concerns. • Treats all Team Members with respect and dignity. • Performs other tasks as assigned. Mechanically and electrically troubleshoot, inspect, and test valves at specified job worksites. Primary worksites include FCX valve repair centers with occasional customer in-field work sites. Perform pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, in process inspection, machining, lapping, painting, assembly, testing, and final inspection on various types of valves and actuation. Perform testing on certified test equipment, and complete all documentation by working under a QA / QC / National Board VR program. Complete field service worksheets and submit to job coordinator upon completion of work. Understanding of pneumatic and digital controls. The Remote Lead Maintenance Technician position carries out activities required to maintain and correct damage and make repairs to physical buildings, structures, and facilities. Additionally, this person will do a variety of work involving equipment use such as ladders and scissor lifts. This position is responsible for routine scheduled, unscheduled, preventative and emergency maintenance services for All Nome Public School facilities in Nome, AK. This is a 3-week on & 3-week off rotational position with housing provided. The point of hire origin is Anchorage, AK. Schedule is regular day shift hours, Monday-Friday, and responsible for responding to emergency maintenance calls/requests. Responsibilities * Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance tasks on commercial property. * Assists the Facilities Manager in directing and monitoring the daily work of other technicians. * Works daily with a computerized maintenance management system to enter, close and record work orders. * Monitors and escorts as necessary subcontractor personnel. * Replaces receptacles, lamps, ballasts etc. * Repairs and replaces sinks, toilets, faucets. * Troubleshoots, repairs pumps and motors. * Performs interior painting. * Modifies and repairs interior/exterior walls systems, roof systems, floorcoverings, windows and window coverings. * Repairs doors and hardware. * Performs minor locksmith duties as needed. * Cleans work area, tools, and equipment. * Assist other maintenance technicians. * All other related duties as required. Qualifications * High school diploma or GED equivalent. * Three (3) or more years of verifiable experience in the building maintenance, electrical, HVAC, plumbing trades for commercial properties or facilities. * Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy. * Must have basic skills in Word and Excel and the ability to operate the Maintenance Work Order System. Preferred Qualifications * Extensive facility maintenance experience with emphasis on commercial electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. * Previous experience with Direct Digital Control systems is preferred. * Possess a 3rd class boiler license. * Technical certificate or higher in an established building trade is strongly desired. * Heavy Equipment operations experience is preferred. Qualifications Certificate, diploma, or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electrician, or related field. MUST have 2 of the following: NFPA 70E and Electric Apprenticeship or State Issued License Licensed or certified electrician (e.g., Red Seal, Journeyperson) preferred, depending on region. Minimum 2-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, motors, drives, and control circuits. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Job Description Engineer $35-40 Maintenance Focus/Background BS ME- 5 years exp in Manufacturing & CAD knowledge Perform as liaison between Product Engineering and Manufacturing to improve new and existing processes, resolve problems, or identify additional requirements to existing processes. Collaborate with other functional groups such as Purchasing/Sourcing, Quality, etc. Evaluate, develop and maintain manufacturing process specifications. Train Engineering associates as required. Resolve equipment issues by troubleshooting; Identify root cause and implement effective corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and/or product quality. Champion the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), maintain PM quality and compliance, track calibration needs and ensure timeliness and improve equipment reliability. Communicate metrics data to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement. Perform product cost estimations and evaluations of alternative production methods. Identify, evaluate, and perform Capital Equipment Justifications based on needs of manufacturing. Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency; translate these improvements into safety, quality and cost improvements. Develop facility layouts based on workflow, production requirements, cost, equipment, and Associate safety. Manage special projects as assigned. Lead Lean events necessary for the project implementation including 2P and Layout Workshops. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending appropriate seminars, membership in associations, and subscription to publications. Become the resident equipment expert. Raise the level of knowledge in the maintenance organization to decrease reliance on outside services to improve reliability and increase uptime. Develop master skills list for the maintenance technicians for equipment.

Mechanically and electrically troubleshoot, inspect, and test valves at specified job worksites. Primary worksites include FCX valve repair centers with occasional customer in-field work sites. Perform pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, in process inspection, machining, lapping, painting, assembly, testing, and final inspection on various types of valves and actuation. Perform testing on certified test equipment, and complete all documentation by working under a QA / QC / National Board VR program. Complete field service worksheets and submit to job coordinator upon completion of work. Understanding of pneumatic and digital controls. Ability and knowledge to reference appropriate valve manuals for repair requirements. Exhibit an ability to effectively communicate with plant personnel regarding valve and instrumentation equipment and customer requirements. Obtain all site specific and safety related training to perform valve repair services. Maintain driver eligibility and regular preventative maintenance on company owned vehicle.
